3 months ago, I started writing for a CEO with 45,000 followers → but 0 qualified leads. He'd hear crickets every time he posted He'd hear crickets every time he promoted his business He'd hear crickets every time he asked followers to DM him Worse, no one wanted to buy from him (although he had a stack of social proof.) So we built a new content strategy free of any platitudes, sob stories, and no context selfies. And slowly things started changing. ✅ 200,000 relevant eyeballs in 60 days. ✅ 4 qualified calls booked in six weeks. ✅ 3 podcast invites and engagement from his ICP. My favorite podcasts are typically hosted by comedians and wildly inappropriate for sharing publicly. Since starting Farms and Frontlines, I’ve had to learn a lot, including: Editing audio files from scratch has been a significant learning experience. It requires patience, a keen ear, and the willingness to start over if needed. I’ve also had to put effort into crafting social media posts. This was never my strong suit, but reaching the right audience is essential, especially for the niche topics we cover. Additionally, honing my storytelling skills has been crucial (shoutout to Parker Worth). Finding the right narrative thread to keep our listeners engaged has shown me just how much effort goes into creating something that feels effortless. Building an engaged community around our podcast has been a rewarding challenge. We've attracted listeners from 20 states, the District of Columbia, and even three foreign countries. While this is exciting, there’s still plenty of room for growth. Creating content that resonates and sparks conversations requires a blend of creativity and strategic thinking. I’m continually learning how to balance engaging stories without boring our audience with too many details. I’d love to hear your thoughts or tips on any of these aspects.
