This Tourism Month, SAACI has been identified to play a pivotal role in Minister Patricia De Lille's five-year plan to transform South Africa's tourism landscape. During the SAACI National Annual Congress in July 2024, the Minister of Tourism said: “To continue growing the MICE industry, the Department of Tourism is committed to working with partners like SAACI, whose mission is to advocate on legislative, regulatory and legal issues that directly impact the industry.” And, with 33 international bids already submitted for 2024-2032, the future of our MICE sector looks brighter than ever. SAACI is committed to going #BeyondEventing and collaborating with the Department of Tourism to drive innovation, professionalisation, and ethical leadership within our industry. As April #OilandGas month came to an end in Namibia after the very successsful #NIEC2024 and #Antila LCC2024, it's time to welcome the upcoming influx of international and regional business travelers in the #Tourism, #Hospitality, and #Aviation industries. First up is the Africa Youth In Tourism Innovation Summit & Challenge from from 28-31 May. This summit is the “one and only” pan-African Youth and Start-up in Tourism summit on the continent and provides a platform for youths and start-ups in tourism, travel, hospitality, aviation and all related industries to connect, engage, learn, and innovate. Next, from 19-21 June, the #Aviadev Conference will offer industry-oriented educational and networking event opportunities. This is followed by the AHIF - Africa Hospitality Investment Forum Conference from 25-27 June, which is Africa’s largest and most exclusive tourism and hospitality conference. These events promise to unlock opportunities for both local and international stakeholders to boost the local tourism economy, and assist in obtaining much-needed investment for infrastructure development to accommodate the growing demand for leisure and business tourism. Tourism Tropical North Queensland (TTNQ) has beaten destinations around Australia to secure an international business event that is expected to inject A$11.68m (US$7.51m) into the Cairns regional economy. TTNQ chief executive officer Mark Olsen announced that Amway Korea Ltd. would bring around 2,700 delegates to Cairns in 2025 arriving from across the Asia-Pacific region in six waves from 17 November to 9 December. “This event is an incentive rewarding Amway’s top performers,” he said. “International incentive groups are the highest-yielding market in tourism with an average spend of A$1,000 per delegate per day compared to A$735 for other international business events. “As well as spending more, incentive delegates tend to stay longer, and we are confident many will extend their stay with their family to explore the Great Barrier Reef and the world’s oldest rainforest." https://lnkd.in/eVcCRZXp #events #eventprofs #incentivetravel #TTNQ #cmw

Uzbekistan Airways is set to launch direct flights from Tashkent to Goa beginning October 27, 2024. This new route will boost connectivity and foster increased tourism and cultural exchange between the two regions. PATA- East Asia Inter-Regional Tourism Federation(EATOF) sign MoU to advance tourism in Asia Pacific 🤝 The MoU outlines collaborations between PATA and EATOF to enhance participation in each association's events, share sustainable practices, and facilitate joint educational and tourism initiatives. Founded in 2000 by 9 East Asian local governments led by Gangwon State, EATOF aims to expand membership, strengthen cooperation, and promote active exchanges.
