This is a paper published in #JMXR that focuses on the use of #virtualreality in #healthcare for addressing chronic #pain. The focus is on development of a multimodal, personalized intervention that integrates #VR with #physiotherapy. I really like the grounding in the Medical Research Council (MRC) framework! Development of the integrated intervention involved a cocreation process with patients, physiotherapists and researchers. Using this approach an integrated intervention was developed and found to be feasible. The next step is a randomized controlled trial. Hi everybody! 👋 We just published a review on #surgical planning in #VR in the Journal of Medical Imaging SPIE, the international society for optics and photonics. In the systematic review, we examine how virtual reality (VR) is transforming surgical planning. With VR, physicians can assess patient-specific image data in 3D, enhancing surgical decision-making and spatial localization of pathologies. Our review of the literature revealed promising trends regarding the benefits of using virtual reality, especially when compared to conventional desktop setups.
