Why Justin Welsh's one of the previous post makes sense? ↳ We all have big goals to achieve. ↳ And inorder to achieve those goals. ↳ We start working harder. And don't get me wrong here. I am in line with you, too. Reaching a certain point, and going beyond, isn't that what we all are working for? It is, right? Some dreams of achieving big things. And for some, those big things means nothing. ↳ But even if you have something, ↳ You didn't expect to have at all. ↳ And you're blessed to have it. BE GRATEFUL. But does it matter? Does it make you superior to others? NO. What truly matters are those little things. Things you often take for granted, like, → A time with family. → A walk in a park/road with your spouse. → A dinner at a restaurant. → A walk on a rainy day. Appreciate all the things in your life. → Be it big or small. → Expected or unexpected. Keep working hard for your dreams. But remember, to cherish each and every moment along the way. 💙 #MondayMotivation. From a recent conversation with a dear young friend. For now, I am leaving the context out. Select lines given here: *** Dear (Friend), I have just read your message. Thank you for sharing the notes on the recent years of your life. We should catch up over a call when time permits. For now: "Trouble is troubled by him who, bull-like, drags his cart through every hurdle." I often recall this 624th couplet from the Kural when life's situations tighten (as they do for everyone - ours sting more). The aspect of this couplet I admire the most is the bull's situation. Bound to the cart, the bull has no flexibility to choose its path. It cannot decide to take another street if it wishes. Nor does it comprehend the nature of the load it bears, whether essential or not, and it's unaware of the dips, bumps, and mud in the street. However, all it knows is that it must conquer the situation using only its strength and the twists and turns available in the street. Regardless of how much we speak of freedom in life, we can't entirely choose our streets and their obstacles. Moreover, the notion that all roads we don't tread are smooth is a fleeting fantasy. Hence, a strenuous effort akin to that of a determined bull is essential for us. The bull does not ponder, "If only I had a better street" or "If only my load were a bundle of sugarcane." Valluvar defines such a setting as 'a situation encountering hurdles.' He does not entertain the idea of "Not THIS hurdle, give me another." The thought, "I can't handle this. What's next?" often springs from a mindset of evasion. Embracing the opportunities we have is a better, more effective path to unlocking more opportunities. As we can't choose our siblings, we cannot choose our colleagues in many organisations. Accept this and work hard. Pour your talent, effort, and intelligence into today's realities. Bear in mind that many young individuals aspire for the very job opportunity you possess now. Your life's work is what gets you out of bed in the morning. Your life's work is what determines your curiosities. ⬇ Your curiosities determine your daily actions. As a young man or woman, you have a duty and an obligation to pursue your dream life. You have an assignment that goes beyond what your mind can perceive. And when you don't pursue this you feel: Lost Stuck Uninspired Lacking purpose I know this because I've been there. Working a job that is solely to pay your rent. Spending most of your time with people who don't inspire you. Being in an intimate relationship that doesn't serve you. Not having enough money to go and pursue something that you are interested in. Feeling like you are not worthy of success or financial freedom. I can keep going. but as you know this is a very difficult position to be in. I am here to say it can be changed. And it starts with you pursuing your curiosities. When we are young we are inspired on the daily. Where curious about the world. We do things without the fear of failing because it's all we know. So let me ask you this - what are you genuinely curious about?

SHORT: Inspired by Daniel Priestley I’ve taken time to revisit my vision and mission and connect it to my origin story. LONG: I rarely share my ‘origin story’. My hope is that from now onwards, when you read my stories you’ll forever know it started with a choice. So here it is, in a nutshell. At age 47, (13 years ago), ‘part two’ of my story began. For the first time since I was 20, I was single. Unexpectedly. I didn’t know how to live alone. I didn’t know how to do the things I loved, alone. A friend suggested that talking to a life coach might help. And so I did. Our conversations were transformational. Now I understand that it was the thoughts I was choosing that were creating my fears and experience of aloneness. From there, one step at a time, I began my life ‘grand design’. I didn’t need to ‘rebuild’ it. I started with a clean page. 📖 I’ve created my experience of living alone to be a thing of beauty and independence. One of choice and grace. I have complete agency over my life. Alone, and never lonely. From there, here’s my vision: To create a world where ‘mid-life’ is a fresh new chapter; where ‘default futures’ are left behind and every day is created as being full of possibility and opportunity. Where people’s experience of life starts on the inside. And my mission: Changing people’s lives. One conversation at a time. A vision and mission isn’t just for business …. Remember when you were a kid and you were going to be crazy successful you had about 3 different career dreams that sparked some much joy. What happened to her? Where did she go? Obviously, 3 full time careers is a bit unrealistic, but hey it’s a dream so you can really do anything right!! Why is that the dreaming sadly stops as we get older. Do you get the feeling like everything seems to be determined for you? Do you find yourself muttering, “This is just how life is”. But what if it didn’t have to be? What if you could have the dreams and imagination of your childhood and make them a reality? Because the truth is you can. Ok maybe it’s too late to become an astronaut 😜 but what CAN you do to create that sense of joy, freedom, and creativity? How can you do more of what lights you up and less of what you’re “obligated” to do?
