Are you a veteran, and can you spare 10-12 minutes? If so, please complete this survey. This research is focused on investigating the military discharge experience and transition-related losses of community, culture, and identity. This research is being conducted by veteran PhD student; Cameron Grant of Flinders University, supervised by MESHA. I continue to see work as so much more than a job. When we observe how people work, we recognize there are endless work styles, motivations, preferences, structures, management, and behaviors. And when analyzing CAREERS there's added complexity, each unique to the individual. It is often overwhelming (and packed with pressures) to navigate our careers. I am constantly seeking to understand my trajectory and the aims that will bring the most satisfaction out of my career. My first profession was full of consternation over not feeling "ready" for the next role. A 2LT commissionee (straight from college) is placed in a role of immense responsibility with zero experience to supplement it. Placed in a position of influence over people with decades more experience in the field- it challenged me to appreciate that everyone has to start somewhere- even the colonel and the general. They have to start with a confidence in those around them to build them up and teach them and show them what REAL progress is as a professional and a leader. The people that are making the most impact are those that are less concerned with their future trajectories (to include myself) and those who are willing to walk patiently with people at earlier stages in the process.
Thank you Margaret Bellinder, BS, MS for your beautiful testimonial about our program! As we remember our fallen heroes this Memorial Day, let's also support those transitioning to civilian life. We are excited to kick off Freetrail's 3rd annual Memorial Day Fundraiser supporting Wounded Warrior Project. To date the FT community has helped raise over $7,000 and this year we are hoping to go bigger. We encourage any brand in the trail/running/outdoor space who will be holding a Memorial Day Sale to consider a donation to this effort. Memorial Day of course was originally a moment to honor those who have served their country and did not make it home. Not the unofficial kick off to summer. Or 40% off anything. This isn't meant to shame a company holding a sale. We get it. But please condisder a donation out of your profits. As a reminder this was originally born out our friend Ari Sonnenburg's annual tribute to his friends that he served with in the US Army. This year his effort is a big one. A 75 hour vision quest through the Netherlands to see how far he can go. Every day, 58 injured veterans and their families sign up to receive critical services and support offered by WWP. Thanks to the generosity of people like you, warriors and their families will never pay a penny for these life-changing programs. How can you participate? Oh how many ways! 1. Donate if you are able to. 2. Get your employer to match the donation if that's a perk that they offer. 3. Spread the word on social media with your friends and family (maybe a repost here?) 4. If you are connected to a brand in the outdoor world encourage a donation if they will be offering Memorial Day Sales. Let's encourage them and not shame them but remind them what this holiday is really about 5. Support Ari. Are you connected to a shoe brand? We are looking for a brand to donate shoes and gear to help him with this effort. Any leads are appreciated! 6. Go out and do your own adventure and tell us all about it 7. Host a podcast? Mention this effort! Thanks in advance. Here is the link to our fundraising page - https://lnkd.in/gA8PStTz

This one cuts deep. No military spouse truly knows what it means to sign on to military life. You can’t know until you feel the baseline daily uncertainty of waiting for your entire life to change without warning. The ever-present tightness in your throat when your spouse is deployed. The relief of finding a genuine friend. Feeling seen and heard for the first time in a long time. The exhaustion in endless Google searches for accessible houses, doctors, dentists, childcare, jobs, mechanics in place after place after place. The grief of finding a priceless family heirloom cracked in a moving box—again. Tiny things that add up. Things you can push through, overlook, justify. That is, until you can’t. But it’s hard to talk about these things openly for layered reasons. This is a courageous and important project. People talk ABOUT mil spouses a lot. But often it’s them AS spouses. Through their relationship to their significant other’s job. They are in the shadows. This project takes a closer look at mil spouses not just as spouses but as people in their own right. Their own perspectives on their own goals, experiences and hopes. Military spouses are often treated as less important in the military community because they don’t wear a uniform. But while the servicemember is away and spouses pack the house for the PCS, organize the kids and help make ends meet at their job, it’s clear they truly help to keep the mission going. Support the project at the link below👇🏻
Hi friends! We are supporting a documentary film called “In the Shadows of Service” and it is in the fundraising stage of development. They have until July 5th to raise $75,000 to get started on this groundbreaking film about modern military spouses. So we have to act quickly! Would you give them some love in the form of a donation? It only takes a few seconds! When you do you are also raising awareness about issues impacting military families across the U.S. and the world. On this special day, we want to take a moment to remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving our country. We are forever grateful and will remember what you did to keep us safe. Here are a few ways we can recognize Memorial Day: • Moment of Silence: On Memorial Day, our Veteran’s Employee Resource Group asks you to consider pausing and observing a moment of silence and reflection. • Share Stories: Memorial Day offers an opportunity to learn about the courageous individuals who fought for our country. • Support Charitable Organizations: Consider organizing a charitable initiative to support veterans or military families in need. Whether it's fundraising, volunteering, or donating, we can make a positive impact and show our support for those affected by the loss of loved ones. By acknowledging Memorial Day, we demonstrate our commitment to our values as a company and show our support for the military community. #MemorialDay #CoWorxStaffing #CoWorxCares

Something to think about
My Nephew’s Eagle Scout project is pretty awesome and I hope you will consider donating. He has a donations drive on May 11th in #jacksonville (in person (photo in comments) and an Amazon link below) for 5 Star Veterans Center, a local non-profit who helps #veterans in need. Thank you for your consideration in helping Dawson with his project! ❤️🤍💙 https://lnkd.in/e7Ds6WCp
