As part of the A4LE-Association for Learning Environments New England Chapter, JCJ’s Emily Czarnecki, NCIDQ, Lead Interior Designer, and Jeffrey Elliott, AIA, LEED AP, Lead Project Designer, will lead a tour of the new New Fairfield High School on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, from 3:00 to 4:30 PM EDT.
This tour will delve into the design considerations and objectives behind the new New Fairfield High School, highlighting the unique education-collaboration model that influenced decision-making. Now completing its first year of operation, the school’s administrative and design team will share their insights and lessons learned, including early thoughts around a formal survey that will track specific success metrics.
Tour Learning Objectives:
◼ Discuss how the design addresses the school’s educational program and supports teaching and learning objectives.
◼ Describe the project process and design strategies that created a dynamic environment fostering school culture and academic achievement.
◼ Review key takeaways and observations from the design and administrative teams since the school’s opening.
◼ Exchange perspectives on how lessons learned can be applied to future projects.
Our team is thrilled to showcase how this facility not only displays innovative learning environments but also serves as a central hub for student and community activities, fostering a culture of responsibility and engagement.
