After hosting the Saturday afternoon show on 1055 The Point, I recently took on a new challenge: Moving to the evening slot. 😨 It's only been a week, but I'm loving the experience and my time with The Point has taught me so much. Here are a few of the key lessons I've learnt; 1️⃣ Preparation Builds Confidence: There’s no substitute for knowing your stuff inside out and I've realised that preparation is the key to feeling confident on air. 2️⃣ Stay Adaptable: Live shows are unpredictable! I've learned to roll with the unexpected moments and thinking on my feet has made each broadcast a little adventure – and I've loved every minute of it. 3️⃣ Connection Over Perfection: It’s easy to strive for perfection, (and with imposter syndrome, I judge myself harshly for not reaching it!) but I've found that the real magic happens when you’re authentic and engaging. Audiences connect with the real you, flaws and all. 4️⃣ Celebrate Every Win: Hosting live shows has taught me to recognise every small win – they all add up and keep the momentum going. Huge thanks to The Point for this amazing opportunity, to everyone I know (and those I don't!) who has tuned in and given me support or sent in a message.
