In October, Bernice Flack, a member of our Foundation, met with Jon Cox, Founder and Director and Wayne Solomon, Instructor, along with the rest of the Adventure Plus team. Adventure Plus has been a leader in providing quality adventure experiences to children for over 30 years. Founded in 1990 by Jon and Tessa Cox, Adventure Plus offers adventure holidays, school residential programmes, Duke of Edinburgh expeditions, team-building events and a variety of other inspiring activities for young people and adults throughout Oxfordshire and across the UK. The mission of Adventure Plus is to help children and young people reach their potential, make positive life choices and enjoy enriching experiences in the great outdoors. A specialised unit of Adventure Plus, known as Adventure Impact (AIm), works with children who are excluded or at risk of exclusion from mainstream education. Young people are referred individually by schools, social services, or Pupil Referral Units (PRUs) and organisations supporting young people with learning disabilities and childhood trauma. Our grant will enable Adventure Plus to purchase two Infento kits, one Legend kit and one Genius kit, for use with all AIm participants. Infento is the first in the world to create a kit that enables children and adults to work together to build real constructible rides and provide opportunities for young people to develop important skills in critical thinking, problem solving and teamwork. "It was already evident from the applications, but when we visited the selected ones in the summer, it was even more striking that there is an incredible tension, a narrowing and a very strong division everywhere." This is the context in which we have launched the second cycle of our Revitalising #SmallTowns programme, supporting seven active #communityleader over three years. We talked to Edit Kovács, Programme Manager, and Péter Peták, expert of the programme, about the power of #locality, #citizenship, #culturebuilding and permissive supportive behaviour. #supportorganization #socialchange #communitydevelopment #nonprofit #grant #activism

The name Children's Legacy Partnership is always a mouthful! Back when I started the foundation finding a name that conveyed our vision was challenging. I wanted it to be short but it was hard to find a name that wasn't taken. After a lot of brainstorming the name grew out of what we hoped to accomplish. Did you know that 30.4 million students in America can't afford their school meals? The average annual cost per child is $180.60, and 68.8% of surveyed schools have unpaid meal debt. Even more concerning, 96% of school districts report an increase in the number of students who can't afford their meals year after year. In Texas alone, there are 1,658,680 food-insecure children. This isn’t just a statistic; it’s a reality that many families face. It’s time we step up and make a difference. https://lnkd.in/gRGzG3wd At The Robb Kelly Foundation, we are dedicated to helping children and families in need, but we can’t do it alone. Every dollar counts. Your donation today can help feed a child, provide support, and give them a chance at a better future. If you're looking to make an impact, please consider donating to The Robb Kelly Foundation. Together, we can fight hunger and bring hope to families across the nation. #MakeADifference #EndChildHunger #RobbKellyFoundation Ray Trevino CEO

As we reflect on the past year, we’re reminded of the lives touched by the work we do – and the incredible impact of your support. This past year, Kids' Chance of Connecticut was able to provide vital scholarships to the kids of workers who have been injured or tragically lost their lives on the job. But the work is far from over, and we need your help to ensure that the promise of a brighter future remains within reach for these families. This holiday season, we are asking for your continued support in helping us support kids facing unimaginable loss. Kids’ Chance scholarships give young people the opportunity to pursue their education, follow their dreams and build a future that might otherwise be out of reach. Your gift – whether large or small – can make an extraordinary difference in these young lives. With the cost of education rising every year, these scholarships provide crucial financial relief, allowing kids to focus on their studies and their futures instead of the challenges their families have faced. But we cannot do this work alone. We rely on the generosity of people like you to continue this important mission. Please consider making a year-end gift that will change the life of a child in need. With your support, we can ensure that these kids, who have already lost so much, do not also lose their chance for a brighter tomorrow. www.kidschancect.org
