Yesterday, my friend's Or Peretz, Elior Stolerman and I attended an enlightening session on Advanced Web Development in Practice, focusing on architecture at scale and Interaction to Next Paint (INP) in React. ⚡ Hadar Grossman delivered an insightful lecture on enhancing user interaction and performance on web pages. She demonstrated the use of the yield-to-main system and its impact on INP runtime. Hadar also showcased React 18 features, such as the new transitions hook and suspense on the router, which optimize backend load times. It was fascinating to see how WIX's statistics improved in the INP section of performance as measured by Google, using these technologies. Samir Salfity presented a new system and architecture that Taboola uses to build modular and scalable web apps. He explained how independent extensions created at runtime enable more complex module integration, improving performance in an asynchronous environment and enhancing the multitasking aspect of web applications. Overall, the lectures were incredibly valuable, though I wish they had been longer. Special thanks to Taboola and Wix for hosting this event and enriching my front-end capabilities and perspective on solutions. Looking forward to future gatherings! 💡
