The 6 Do's All Good Coaches Should Know 🏀 Do Give Specific Feedback Avoid general phrases like “Cut!” or “Get a rebound!” Instead, focus on actionable guidance, like “Space to the corner” or “Jump to the ball.” Clear, specific feedback is key to helping players improve. 🏀 Do Use Games 90% of Your Practice Emphasize small-sided games to teach skills. Teaching through games not only engages players but also promotes better retention and understanding. 🏀 Do Teach in Bullet Points Short, clear instructions reduce confusion and keep players focused. Aim to keep your feedback to seven seconds or less for maximum impact. 🏀 Do Normalize Mistakes Learning is messy—embrace mistakes as part of the process. Create an environment where players feel free to explore, make errors, and grow. 🏀 Do Keep It Moving Keep the pace fast, whether it’s a drill, game, or full practice session. A dynamic environment helps players stay engaged and adapt to the speed of the game. 🏀 Do Keep It Simple Simple succeeds, fancy fails.
