The innovation from shifting to a circular economy can generate 700,000 jobs in the EU alone by 2030 on some estimates. Sappi already employs more than 11,000 people around the world. Our woodfibre-based resources already help customers reduce the use of plastics and fossil-based materials. We use cellulose and other woodfibre components to create renewable alternatives to plastic in barriers, coatings and product formulations – combining positive sustainable outcomes with first-class performance. Find out plenty more about the business benefits of the circular economy in the latest article by Misa Bursac, VP Innovation and R&D at Sappi Europe: What benefits do you see for business in a society where recyclable packaging is the norm? #sappi #CircularEconomy #Sustainability

🌟 Shaping the Future of Metal Recycling in Europe! 🌟 Today, IGMNiR, representing metal recyclers and industry leaders, is excited to host the IGMNiR - Economic Chamber of Non-Ferrous Metals and Recycling - VDM Verband Deutscher Metallhändler und Recycler e. V. - BDSV Bundesvereinigung Deutscher Stahlrecycling- und Entsorgungsunternehmen e. V. - Metaal Recycling Federatie (MRF) Meeting. We are bringing together 265 guests from 147 companies and institutions across 16 countries to discuss the future of metal recycling in Europe. This prestigious event will take place at the luxurious Hotel Warszawa *****, setting the stage for insightful conversations about innovation and collaboration in our industry. As an organization that brings together metal recyclers, we know that innovation is key to advancing our sector. The integration of artificial intelligence (AI) and other advanced technologies will revolutionize how we approach recycling processes. AI-driven solutions will enable us to improve the efficiency of sorting and processing materials, optimize resource use, and minimize waste, leading to more sustainable practices throughout the industry. 🧠🤖 At IGMNiR, we believe that adopting these cutting-edge technologies is not just about staying competitive—it’s about leading the charge towards a circular economy. By leveraging AI and other innovations, we will achieve better material recovery rates, enhance the quality of recycled metals, and reduce the environmental impact of our operations. This aligns with Europe’s broader goals for sustainability and carbon neutrality. 🌍♻️ We are looking forward to engaging with all participants, learning from industry experts, and working together to push the boundaries of what’s possible in metal recycling. As IGMNiR, we are committed to fostering a collaborative and innovative environment that will help shape a more sustainable and prosperous future for everyone. Let’s continue to innovate, collaborate, and inspire change! #MetalRecycling #Innovation #Sustainability #CircularEconomy

The transition from Fossil Shale Oil production to a more sustainable (environmental + economical) industrial production is the challenge currently facing #VKG To answer this challenge, VKG organizes an Environmental Day every year, inviting speakers from different origins to create an open discussion and benefit from collective intelligence. In his introduction, Ahti Asmann, VKG CEO, explained that VKG's skilled manpower and tremendous industrial experience are crucial competitive advantages for success in this transition. Among the different promising transitions, VKG is considering #Renewableenergy (Wind and Solar), #Greenhydrogen, and #Plasticrecycling. Among speakers, Sylvie Lemoine, Deputy General Director / Industrial Policy - Cefic, presented the challenges of the European chemical industry including: - The EU27 market share is shrinking due to competition, mainly from China's production growth. - Growth of production in China (+10% annual Europe). - Increasing production costs in the EU due to higher energy prices and regulatory/administrative reporting. - Need for innovation and investment. The Ten (10) proposals to face these challenges have been summarized in the antwerp-declaration.eu In the afternoon, I will present Axens' perception of advanced plastic recycling challenges in the EU, discussing the regulatory framework, mass balance necessity for pyrolysis adoption, technology maturity, and current scaling of advanced plastic recycling worldwide. #vkg #virukeemiagrupp

Pegasus Polymers and Resinex, members of the Ravago Greece Group, were proud Sponsors of the Plastainability 2024 conference, held on November 12 at the NCSR Demokritos in Athens. The conference, now a key event for the plastics industry, focused on the transition to a circular economy. It addressed the challenges and opportunities posed by new regulatory frameworks, such as the European PPWR regulation and the recently enacted Greek recycling law. 💡 Through insightful presentations by industry leaders and a dynamic discussion titled “End Pollution, Not Production”, the event emphasized the crucial role of innovation, technology, and process redesign in building a sustainable future. Our participation as Sponsors demonstrates the Ravago Greece Group’s commitment to supporting initiatives that advance the plastics industry toward sustainable practices, promoting collaboration, knowledge sharing, and the development of innovative solutions. ♻️ A standout feature of the conference was the installation of a plastic bottle return machine, giving attendees a preview of the future of recycling in Greece. We are proud to support initiatives that foster sustainable development and extend our sincere thanks to the Hellenic Association of Plastics Industries (HAPI) for their exceptional organization of the event. 🤝 #RavagoGreeceGroup #PegasusPolymers #Resinex #Plastainability2024 #CircularEconomy #Sustainability #EndPollutionNotProduction
