Seven Ways that the Smartphone Helps Vulnerable Financial Customers Vulnerable customers who may have controlling partners or parents; or may be restricted in their access to cash or housekeeping funds; or perhaps are not allowed to retain their own wages, can establish more financial independence when using a smartphone to manage their money. Here are some ways that a smartphone can help keep you safe in these circumstances. 1. There is no physical post – so you do not have to fear a problem walking in with the mail. 2. You can hide apps in folders, that are in folders – so your personal finance apps can remain undiscovered. 3. You can manage notifications to be discreet – so that you are not alerting anyone you don’t want to know about your financial activity. 4. You can protect your account with 2FA and biometric security so that it is not accessible to anyone else. 5. Your digital account is individual to you – so there is no counter-signing or dual signatures needed to access your cash. 6. Everyone has a smartphone for all sorts of reasons – looking at your phone is not suspicious in itself. 7. You can keep or protect money in digital wallets or in crypto accounts that are secure and known only to you – for use as savings, in emergencies or as back-up funds. Sometimes, the smartphone plays a much bigger role in people’s lives than it first appears – and keeping them safe and in control of their own finances when otherwise they may be vulnerable is one that we are very keen to support.

How much cash is in your wallet? In a world where so many of our transactions involve swiping plastic or making payments online, cash might seem old-fashioned or irrelevant. The CrowdStrike software failure in late July that disabled computers all over the world may contradict this assumption. https://lnkd.in/gTXbFwU5 #cashonhand #wallet #crowdstrike #softwarefailure #transactions
