Special Ed Strategist® 🌟 | Certified Educational Therapist 📚 | Orton Gillingham Practitioner 📖 | IEP Coach 🎓 | Educational Diagnostician 🔍 | Learning Essentials 🧠 | Special Ed Strategist Podcast 🎙️
🎙📣 Exciting news! 📣 I am thrilled to announce that we have a new episode of our podcast available for you to listen to! In this episode, we dive deep into the fascinating world of dyscalculia with our special guest, Cat Eadle, M.Ed., one of the co-founders of the Dyscalculia Network. Here are three key takeaways from this enlightening conversation: 1️⃣ Evidence-Based Support: Cat emphasizes the significance of collecting evidence to understand how dyscalculia impacts students academically and in their daily lives. By starting with this evidence, educators and support systems can create a pathway forward that ensures everyone involved understands the gaps and gains of the student. This allows for implementing tailored strategies to support their learning and help them become independent learners throughout their day. 2️⃣ Support Across Life Stages: Cat highlights the different types of support needed for learners of different ages. It is crucial for younger learners to provide a supportive environment, encourage them to talk about their feelings, and use technology to aid their learning. As learners get older, it becomes essential to help them understand themselves as learners and provide a trusted person they can talk to. Additionally, for adults with dyscalculia, connecting with others who share similar experiences is incredibly valuable. 3️⃣ Focusing on strengths: Cat emphasizes the importance of recognizing and nurturing individual strengths in learners with dyscalculia. While dyscalculia may present challenges, it is equally important to celebrate individuals' unique strengths. Focusing on these strengths can empower learners with dyscalculia and help them thrive. I hope you find these takeaways as insightful and enlightening as I did! 🌟 Make sure to tune in to the full episode to hear more from Cat and gain a deeper understanding of dyscalculia. You can find the episode on our podcast platform. Happy listening! 🎧✨ #UnmaskingDyscalculia #NeurodiversityJourney #EmpowerThroughUnderstanding #SpecialEdStrategist #LearningEssentials

In today's episode of the Grad School Femtoring Podcast, I share advice on what to do if you run into a tight grad school deadline. My advice is particularly tailored towards non-traditional grad school applicants and individuals returning to school later in life. I ask that you consider a few things before starting your application materials. Consider the cost of attendance and if applying is worth your time and financial investment; see if you can talk to alumni, faculty, or grad students to gauge the worth of the program. And after that, you’ll need to work diligently to prepare your application materials. If you need additional supporting navigating the graduate school application process, check out my Grad Apps Demystified self-paced course. You can find it at the shop on my website or DM me to learn more. [ID: Video of Dra. Yvette wearing tan-colored headphones, black headband, and glasses talking about a recent set of coaching consultations she had with nontraditional applicants who were facing a tight grad school deadline. ] #GradSchoolFemtoring #GradAppsDemystified #ApplyingtoGradSchool #GradAppsCourse

It's been a while since I shared what I consider a game-changing source of education. This podcast and YouTube channel are so accessible for those trying to understand politics, culture, and society. Philosophy teaches us how to live better lives. It challenges our assumptions and helps us formulate better questions about the problems we see in the world. I've realized that my limited understanding of politics stems from never having gathered the frameworks needed to make sense of how present events echo those of the past. This context is crucial for understanding and judging current events. No matter which source you find most reliable and accessible for understanding our historical moment, my humble recommendation is to take those sources you find most informative and truly study them in depth. I listen to a lot of podcasts while driving, washing dishes, or working out. Since I couldn't fully digest everything while multitasking, I started doing second revisions for long-term learning. If you notice you're spending too much time on social media scrolling for entertainment or overwhelming yourself with grim news, here's a refreshing alternative you might want to try :) P.S. I'm an educator and life coach. After a six-month break from social networks, I'm back to add value—even if it's by influencing one reader at a time. #philosophizethis #stephenwest #Philosophy #Education #SelfImprovement #LifelongLearning #KnowledgeIsPower #PodcastRecommendation #LearnAndGrow #ThoughtProvoking #CulturalAwareness #PoliticalEducation #MindfulLiving #IntellectualGrowth #StayInformed #Podcasts #YouTubeLearning #Wisdom #HistoryMatters #ContextIsKey #EducateYourself #LifeCoach #PersonalGrowth #SocialAwareness #InfluencePositively
