Market Intelligence: Lineapelle leads to no lift in the mood leatherbiz.com/News/169764 The latest edition of our Market Intelligence newsletter went live on September 24, offering reflections on the Lineapelle exhibition, which took place in Milan last week. For the first time in many years, our industry insider says, a visit to the exhibition failed to lift the mood. According to the report, available in full on the website, exhibitors commented on the absence of people who have been regular visitors to the event in the recent past. It adds that many exhibiting companies also showed a reluctance to put genuinely new product ideas on show and concludes that this, too, may be an indication of a lack of optimism. There are indirect factors that are contributing to this, without doubt, and Market Intelligence singles out the imminent European Deforestation Regulation (#EUDR) as being “at the forefront” of this. There were small, niche suppliers who were satisfied because their business is stable and orders continue to come in. Fruitful ITM for Karl Mayer Group... At this year's ITM in Istanbul where the majority of visitors came from Turkey, the Karl Mayer Group once again demonstrated it is a reliable partner for its customers, especially in difficult times. In particular, the number of trade visitors from North Africa and Central Asia was lower than usual. Nevertheless, the Karl Mayer Group trade fair team was able to report successes. The positive outcome included numerous new contacts - 22% of the registered guests were first-time visitors - and an almost consistently high number of Turkish visitors as at ITM 2022. Above all, however, there was a high-quality professional exchange with dialogue partners, most of whom had specific concerns. "We had many in depth discussions, mostly about the difficult economic situation. Our customers are currently looking for ways to reduce their costs and increase the efficiency of their production. The solutions we presented in the areas of machine technology, digital solutions, service and textile innovations gave our customers a lot of valuable insight for their business. It is also relevant to note that with the quick changing requirements of retailers, machine flexibility is becoming as important as speed," says Toros Greenhalgh, Managing Director of the Turkish subsidiary of the Karl Mayer Group, which has only started local operations this year. Bronze Award for KLEIBERIT do Brasil ForMóbile 2024 After four days (June 30th to July 03rd 2024) of intense exchange of experiences and business generation, the 10th edition of ForMóbile 2024 came to the end, consolidating itself once again as a reference in South America and an important showcase for companies in the sector of which KLEIBERIT is an example. The largest furniture and wood industry fair in Latin America brought together more than 550 exhibiting brands and welcomed more than 50 thousand professionals and major players from the industry segments in five pavilions at São Paulo Expo. During the fair, KLEIBERIT focused its activities on the presentation of Biosustainable (BIO-based) adhesives for all operating areas of the company (Lamination, coating, edgebanding) and all technologies (PUR, EVA, PVAc, etc.) that they are manufacturing.
