🚀 Reflecting on a Remarkable Journey! 🚀 Hello LinkedIn Community, It’s hard to believe that it’s been 1 year I joined A S L SHIPPING LLC as an Operational Executive in Shipping and Logistics! 🌟🚢 Since stepping into this role last year, I’ve had the incredible opportunity to work alongside a talented team and immerse myself in the dynamic world of logistics and supply chain management. From optimizing operations to streamlining processes and enhancing efficiency, it’s been a journey of growth, learning, and innovation. Hi everyone I’d like to share some insights from my experience in the logistics industry. Working in logistics involves handling a diverse range of shipment types, each with its own set of challenges. From export LCL, FCL, AIR shipments, and even import LCL, FCL, AIR , domestic LCL, FCL, DCL, project shipments, and triangle shipments – each requires a unique approach and solution. Here are some of the complexities that I face so far.. * LCL vs. FCL: Balancing cost and capacity requires meticulous planning. * Air vs. Sea Freight: Selecting the right mode based on urgency and cost. * DCL: Managing hazardous materials with strict adherence to regulations. * Special Projects: Coordinating logistics for large-scale projects with specific needs. * Triangle Shipments: Aligning logistics across multiple locations for efficiency. While these challenges can be stressful, overcoming them provides a significant sense of accomplishment and drives innovation. I continually learn and adapt to the changing dynamics of the industry to provide the best solutions for my clients. As I gain more experience and the industry evolves, I anticipate facing even greater challenges and opportunities ahead. The experience and knowledge I've gained are thanks to the guidance from my boss, both at my previous job and my current one. I truly value all the insights shared and am dedicated to continuing my growth and development as a professional. Exploring the World of Chartering: A Hands-On Learning Experience at SEASKY Interglobal Logistics PVT. LTD. As part of my SEM 5 curriculum in Chartering for the BMS in Customs Clearance, Freight Forwarding, and Logistics, I recently had the incredible opportunity to visit SEASKY Interglobal Logistics PVT. LTD. in Dahisar West on August 19, 2024. This visit was organized thanks to the unwavering support of our faculty and course coordinator, Mr. Prakash Khatri, whose efforts made this experience possible. It was an insightful opportunity to delve deep into the world of chartering a pivotal sector in logistics. I was fortunate to have a one-on-one discussion with Mr. Prakash Kamthe, Director of SEASKY Logistics, gaining firsthand exposure to the intricate operations involved in chartering. During the visit, we covered a range of critical topics: - Break Bulk vs. Bulk Cargo: Understanding differences in pricing, volumes, and handling when compared to containerized cargo. - Hatch Planning: The importance of efficient hatch management in chartering operations. - Mobile Harbour Cranes: Their role in efficient cargo handling. - Gearless Vessels: Examining vessels that operate without onboard cranes. - Live Ports Operations: Observing the unloading of a 38,500 MT coal vessel at Krishnapatnam Port, Andhra Pradesh. - Intercarting: Movement of goods from the wharf to designated port areas. - Key industry concepts like Laycan Time, Cargo Readiness, Notice of Readiness (NOR), Demurrage, and Wharfage Charges. This experience ignited a deeper interest in chartering for me, and perhaps, it marks a defining moment in my career. I’m eager to further explore this dynamic field and gain deeper insights into its complexities. A heartfelt thank you to Mr. Prakash Khatri and SEASKY Interglobal Logistics for this incredible learning experience.
