"Education is a Universal Right, Not a Privilege." In many rural parts of Nigeria, children face immense challenges in accessing quality education. Lack of infrastructure, insufficient teaching materials, and a shortage of qualified teachers are just a few of the obstacles that stand in their way. This stark reality is in sharp contrast to other parts of the world, where students have access to modern facilities, well-trained educators, and abundant resources. While students in developed countries enjoy the benefits of technology-enhanced learning and diverse educational opportunities, many Nigerian children struggle in overcrowded classrooms, if they have classrooms at all. The gap in educational quality not only hinders the personal development of these children but also stunts the potential growth of our nation. Education is a fundamental human right. It should not be determined by one's geographical location or economic background. We must advocate for policies that ensure every child in Nigeria, regardless of where they live, has access to quality education. Join us in demanding better infrastructure, more resources, and skilled teachers for rural schools. Let's bridge the educational divide and give every Nigerian child the future they deserve. Take action today: Sign the petition for educational reform in rural Nigeria. Together, we can make a difference. https://chng.it/FNh8sy7m2Y #QualityEducation #EducationForAll #BetterFuture #JedChildTrust #UNICEF #SDGs

Part of the challenges we have in the educational system in Nigeria is the massive proliferation of mushroom (substandard) schools. Every single Nigerian child deserves quality education and this we would continue to advocate for until it gets to every child. In a bid to stop this proliferation and to increase the quality of education in Nigeria especially in the middle & low income schools, our firm (NestEdu Consults) began this service. School reviews & assessment check is to help Proprietors & school administrators review their holistic progress at intervals. This review would help them know their strengths and areas to improve on. Atimes, an organization may feel they are doing well not knowing there are things they could have done better. There is nothing wrong in seeking to know how you can do better than what you are currently doing. Every child deserves quality education. We owe it to them.... #Schoolreviews #schoolassessment #education #teaching #NestEduConsults

: 📚 Why Has Education Declined in Nigeria Since 2010? Since 2010, Nigeria has experienced a significant decline in education across various levels. Primary school enrollment has decreased by 6.25%, secondary school enrollment by 9.09%, and tertiary education enrollment by 25%. Even with support from foreign bodies and institutions, quality indicators like student-teacher ratios and infrastructure quality have worsened, while chronic absenteeism and dropout rates have increased. It's crucial to address these issues to secure a better future for our youth. One of The Key Factors at The Heart of the Matter: Teacher Quality and Availability One of the most pressing factors in this decline is the shortage of qualified teachers and their low motivation. Let's dive into why this is happening and what we can do about it: The Issues of Motivation: What Drives You as a Teacher? Motivation lies at the heart of effective teaching. It's not just about a paycheck; it's about passion, purpose, and the desire to make a difference in students' lives. I heard of a teacher whose classes in the East were always packed 🎓 (exciting motivating, inspiring, and educating), not because of financial incentives, but because of his dedication and passion for teaching. Some teachers today need to ask themselves: "Why do I teach? What drives me?" Guess The Teacher 🍎 Who was that inspiring teacher in your life who made a significant impact? The situation with private schools in Nigeria is concerning. Many private schools there seem to be exploiting teachers due to a lack of employment opportunities in the country. The recruitment practices at these private schools are often selfish, prioritizing the school's profits over the students' education. One major issue is that private school teachers are frequently required to teach an unreasonable number of subjects - sometimes 3 to 4 different subjects. This heavy workload makes it very difficult for the teachers to be truly effective in the classroom. I can understand your confusion and frustration with the private schools' practice of scheduling teachers for 23 periods per week. It seems the founding of many private schools in Nigeria is driven more by a desire for wealth than a genuine passion for education and supporting students' learning. The focus has shifted away from providing a high-quality educational experience and nurturing the next generation. Something needs to be done to address these problems in the private school system. Greater regulation, teacher protections, and a renewed emphasis on educational quality over profit motives could help improve the situation for both teachers and students. I hope the relevant authorities and stakeholders can work together to enact meaningful reforms in this area.

As Nigeria celebrates 64 years of independence today, we honour a nation built on resilience, unity, and the potential for greatness. Yet, a critical issue remains at the core of our challenges—millions of Nigerian children are still deprived of quality education. This gap in education continues to hold back our progress. At 64 years, the dividends of democracy must be felt in every school, by every child, across every corner of Nigeria. Education is the foundation of our future, and systemic reforms are urgently needed to ensure that every Nigerian child has access to the learning opportunities they deserve. UDO FOUNDATION is committed to advocating for the rights of these children, and today, we call on all stakeholders—government, private sector, and civil society—to join us in building a Nigeria where education is no longer a privilege but a right for all. Let’s ensure that as we grow older as a nation, we also grow in providing equitable educational opportunities. #NigeriaAt64 #EducationForAll #IndependenceDay2024 #SDGs #QualityEducation #UDOFightsForChildren

Nigeria's education system is facing a crisis! Our teachers, the backbone of our society, are leaving in droves! Why? Because they are undervalued, underpaid, and unappreciated! - Low remuneration: Teachers are paid peanuts, making it impossible to survive, let alone thrive! - Lack of training: No opportunities for professional development, leaving them stagnant and demotivated! - No governing body: No organization to speak for teachers, leaving them voiceless and powerless especially in the hands of some cruel school owners. This mass exodus of dedicated teachers is a disaster waiting to happen! We must ACT NOW to save our education system! - Pay teachers at least the minimum wage! - Provide regular training and development opportunities! - Establish a governing body to advocate for teachers' rights! I am calling on the government, school owners and the TRCN to create a system that values, supports, and empowers our teachers! With a new school year approaching, let's put structures in place to revitalize Nigerian teachers! #TeachersMatter #EducationIsKey #NigeriaDeservesBette

Let's talk about Nigeria's educational decadence today. I will share my thoughts on the issue 💔 Education decadence in Nigeria is a multifaceted issue marked by various challenges. Despite efforts to improve the education system, several factors contribute to its decline. One major issue is inadequate funding, leading to poorly equipped schools, overcrowded classrooms, and insufficient resources for teachers. Additionally, corruption and mismanagement often plague educational institutions, diverting funds away from essential areas. Today, I met a young boy who is out of school because his parents lacked the funds to send him to school. He has resorted to becoming a" bus conductor" to earn his daily bread. Meeting him today, I remembered the song we sang as kids: "Children are the leaders of tomorrow." it left me questioning the leader in the young boy. This is the situation of many children in Nigeria. 📍What do you think is responsible for the educational decadence in Nigeria? 📍Do you think free education across all levels can revive Nigeria's educational sector? 📍Do you think Nigeria can achieve the goal 4( quality education) of the SDGs by 2030? Share your thoughts in the comment section #SDGs #education #advocacy #healthcommunication #20daysLinkedINwithHaoma #outofschool #freeeducation #goal4 #Linkedingrowth

Since 1977, have the goals of Nigeria’s National Policy on Education really addressed the actual needs of the Nigerian people? This thought-provoking question aims to make us think about how these policy goals have shaped our experience of formal education, or instinctively, how they have failed to meet our educational requirements. The National Policy on Education aims to promote a fair and just society, a free and democratic nation, a united and self-reliant country, a thriving and dynamic economy, and a land that offers equal opportunities for all. But have we actually made progress in these areas? For example, one of its primary objectives is to ensure access to basic education. In reality, how many children have access to quality education compared to our total population? What is the significant decline in the percentage of out-of-school in Nigeria? These questions are a call to action for all of us. It urges all stakeholders to step up and actively participate in the education of every child, as an educated nation is a progressive nation.
