Technical Manager, CARSOME Automotive Industry Leader | Aftersales | Service & Parts | Body & Paint | Service Engineering Ops | Used Car Inspection & Refurbishment | Customer Handling | Process Optimization | Start-up
I remember when I dropped by before to see some of the old crew, and it brought back memories of the days when we worked long hours, including those unforgettable overnight shifts prepping for auction day. Although we're in different uniforms now, the same energy and dedication remain. #AutomotivePH #AutomotiveIndustry #AfterSales #CustomerService #ServiceManagement #AutoParts #ServiceOperations #CollisionRepair #BodyAndPaint #TechnicalSupport #EngineeringOperations #InventoryManagement #WarehouseOperations #VehicleInspection #Reconditioning #Leadership

Automotive & Digital Retail Expert | Digital Marketing Strategist | Entrepreneurial Leader Committed to "Impact Over Optics" | Servant Leader Focused on Getting Things Done
A few months back, out of the blue, I got a DM on LinkedIn from an old team member Alejandro Jose Torres, MS —who's now killing it as a general manager—sending me this pic of the cars on the lot lined up with precision. He said another team member told him he should send me that pic because "Clay would be proud of our lines". It really made me feel good that after more than 6 years my impact still resonated enough to deserve the shout out. Life at the dealership was intense—long hours, tons of pressure, but it was very rewarding. Especially because of the people. I always believed in giving everyone a shot at learning and growing, not just doing a job. Here’s what we lived by: • Ownership: Didn't matter what your job title was. We all owned a piece of the place. Success was a team sport, and if one of us tripped, we all helped pick them back up. • Embracing mistakes: I used to say, “Go out there and f@#& things up.” It sounds crazy, but making mistakes meant you were trying new things and more importantly learning. It sped up new sales people's progress and made everyone feel comfortable doing the job. • Knowing the crew: Beyond just names and job duties, I made it a point to know the team. Their families, what got them out of bed in the morning, their superpowers, and the stuff they wanted to get better at. We’d work together to play up those strengths and tackle the challenges head-on. Seeing that photo of the cars lined up was more than just nostalgia. It was proof that the little things stick and that leadership is about more than just the bottom line—it's about building a community that lifts each other up. Thank you Alejandro for the reminder. And, to all my past and present team members, thanks for taking the ride with me, for every "oops" moment that taught us something new, and for keeping those lines straight, in every sense of the word. Here's to all the ways we've grown and all the challenges yet to come. #Leadership #Teamwork #CarDealershipLife #Drivetime

𝐑𝐞𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩𝐬‼️ This is a picture of my grandfather and myself from this weekend that got captured… disregard the crocs and gut, I had just ate some killer steak fajitas 😂 But my pawpaw has bought the same Chevy truck from the same dealership for the last 40+ years. Every couple years he goes and trades in for a newer model. He never goes and looks anywhere else for better pricing or to try to get a better deal, he goes to Lynn Layton Chevrolet Service in Decatur, AL because of the relationship. Lynn Layton took care of my grandpa years ago when he was working in the GM factory and ever since then my grandfather won’t buy a vehicle from anyone else. So this weekend when I was in town he was telling me about going and getting new tires from them and it made me think about how they got a lifetime customer but how?? They simply created a relationship that was reliable, easy, and consistent! I want our customers at RJ Young to be lifelong customers, not just because of pricing but because of relationships! I want them to know we have their back and the best interest of their business! We aren’t perfect but we strive to be reliable, easy to work with, and consistent day in and out! Our company culture is based on 5 key things: - 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲 - 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞 - 𝐀𝐜𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 - 𝐄𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐲 - 𝐄𝐱𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 #RJY #RJyoung #CustomerService #Relationships #Business

A Mother and Her Son Walk Into A Dealership… And become two of the top sales professionals across the group. The best part. Gunner(her son), who is at Nissan, is the one who recruited her to the Ford store. It gets better. They have two very unique styles of selling. Gunner creates content, connects with customers, and sells over 20+ monthly at 21 years old. All through social media. Mom has an entirely different style; she connects and nurtures right through the CRM. This story is remarkable for two reasons. 1.) I’ve heard many people say families can’t work together, but it works great for my family, and it’s doing well for them. 2.) Mom and Gunner have a completely different selling style, but both are winners. That’s so good. Leaders, do you have experience hiring family, and what advice do you have for the culture it can create? #automotiveindustry #familyatwork #culture #experience #dealership

INTENTION: A Thing Intended; An Aim Or Plan. By now most of you know at least part of my story: Most know when I came into the car business December 2018 I said I would be a General Manager in 5 years. Most people laughed at that goal. Most know the 28 months I sold cars, I sold over 600 units and led my dealership in sales every month in a Passport INFINITI store doing 80-120 units per month. Most know I was promoted to Sales Manager there and spent the next 6 months becoming proficient at variable operations. Most know I spent the next 2 years after that at Len Stoler Lexus as a Sales Manager refining The Luxury Dealership Experience. Most know I went to Heritage MileOne CDJR as a General Sales Manager to refine my skillset in variable and fixed operations with an iconic domestic “Every Man’s Brand” Most know I went to Heritage MileOne Toyota to rebuild the business after the GM, GSM, multiple sales managers, and half the sales staff walked out. Most know I was involved in multiple rebuilds there and assisted in building a team that consistently put 1M of variable gross on the books monthly and a high of 304 units. Why do most that follow me know these things? Because I strongly believe in INTENTION. I believe if you speak your goals out loud, and have as well as maintain the right INTENTION, the Universe will find a way to hold you accountable to what you said you wanted to accomplish. With that, at 5 years and 6 months in the business, I am elated to announce I have embarked on my first General Manager opportunity as I take the lead at Antwerpen CDJR in Catonsville Maryland. It’s not luck. It wasn’t given. It hasn’t been easy. It didn’t happen overnight. INTENTION made this a reality. Stay focused and keep the main thing THE MAIN THING! I am extremely grateful for every opportunity I have had in Automotive Retail and will keep learning and growing every day! #Automotive #AutomotiveRetail #Leadership #GeneralManager #CDJR #iamTheSocket #iamTheInfluencer #iamRasean
