ATTN Austin-area Communications professionals: Women Communicators of Austin is compiling compensation research – and your help is needed! We are conducting a survey designed to gather input from Austin-area communications professionals about how individuals are compensated for their work. WCA membership is NOT required to participate. Our goal is to get a broad representation of respondents – from all genders, ethnicities, experience levels, industries, and professional focus areas – so that the data is more meaningful and robust. It should take less than 10 minutes for you to complete. Your answers will be kept strictly confidential and will only be viewed in the aggregate by WCA's Board of Directors. As an added incentive for filling out the survey, we are offering a gift card drawing. Your name and individual responses will not be shared within the data reporting. Can someone explain why companies which won't hire me expect me to fill out a survey about my "candidate experience" even though they won't tell me ANYTHING about WHY I wasn't hired? How am I supposed to improve or repair things if employers have nothing remotely constructive to say? "It's not our policy to explain why we don't hire people," is not helpful, and it's deeply hypocritical to expect me to fill out a survey (of ANY length!) telling you how your not-hiring process was for me. . If you're going to drag people to three or more interviews and not hire them the very least you can do is send a $25 gift card when you send your obnoxiously hypocritical survey. The more reasonable, adult response would be to explain exactly why you didn't hire me. When you refuse to say anything it makes me think that you aren't on the up & up.

RESEARCH OPPORTUNITY FOR NEURODIVERGENT JOB SEEKERS and/or EMPLOYEES .... share your voice and experiences. (Feel free to share for reach) Researchers at the University of Missouri are inviting #neurodivergent individuals to participate in a 40–60-minute research interview to understand the process of securing and maintaining employment. Their research (approved by an Ethics Board) seeks to understand the practices, challenges, and opportunities related to #NeurodiverseEmployment. Participation is completely voluntary and participants’ responses will be kept confidential.
