The future of the design office The concept behind gentle & more emerged as a solution hub for design challenges, similar to a traditional design office/studio, although we find the terms somewhat limiting. Our approach involves co-creation, but above all, we endeavor to guide and connect our clients across various domains of hardware development. We engage in co-design, but also co-investment, and initiate spinoff ventures for products and services we genuinely believe in. Our journey has seen both successes and failures, each offering valuable lessons. Thus, we think the term "design link" to encapsulate our essence and services more accurately. By engaging in the entire spectrum from ideation to consumer interaction and understanding the operational intricacies of product management, we align closely with the challenges faced by many of our clients. Last week Joseph Nelson spent a week with our team on work experience in our London Office. Joe was given the task to work up a demountable kiosk at Sneinton Market in Nottingham. He did a brief analysis of the context and what type of kiosk would work in the location. He then worked up a strong design concept based upon parametric principles and sketched out his ideas, before modelling it up to create visuals and short films to illustrate the design and how it would operate, both during the day and in the evening. He also took part in client meetings, at which he taught the project team about how to effectively consult with hard-to-reach groups using social media.    At the end of his week with us, Joe said:   "As I come to the end of my week at Leonard Design, I can only be disappointed I didn’t get to spend longer here at the office. Whilst nervous upon entry, the warm atmosphere created by the people here eliminated all limiting beliefs and I left that first day eager to see how the next 4 days would play out. For someone with very limited knowledge and skills when it comes to architecture, I feared I would begin to drown upon entry. Whilst being thrown straight into a project, I couldn’t help but swim with the support of the team around me. Finishing and presenting a project that I didn’t deem possible before this week.   Leonard Design is not only an exceptional example of the creative mind utilizing modern day tools to change the world as we see it. It is also a lovely group of supportive people whose mission is to not just design, but to leave a net positive on society after every project. Thankyou to everyone at Leonard Design, this is a special place!"
