Understanding HRV: What is it really? 🫀
Heart Rate Variability (HRV) isn’t just about how fast or slow your heart beats when you move from sitting to sprinting. That’s simply a change in heart rate.
HRV measures the tiny differences between each heartbeat — for example, one beat might come 1 second after the last, and the next might come 1.1 or 0.9 seconds later. This beat-to-beat variation reflects your body's adaptability and resilience, connecting deeply to your breathing and vagal nerve function.
The stronger your vagal tone, the more flexible your heart's response to stress and relaxation.
