Yesterday I was watching Drive to Survive on Netflix. This episode focused on Guenther Steiner and one part of the episode drew my attention. Guenther's authenticity in being himself. He doesn't hold back his opinions or his frustrations/excitement. That endears him to fans as seen by the people lining up to get an autographed copy of his book (side note: I purchased a copy last night.....you can say I cheer for him!) That made me think about the people that he would not attract. Those that don't want somebody who shows their emotions and gets excited. His personality is a turn off. What if he went the other way? What if he were more conservative like Toto Wolff? He would probably attract people to him but then he would lose the people that love his boisterous personality. That made me think that we should be ourselves and not a person we believe that the public wants because either way there will be detractors. Be you, unapologetically you and enjoy what you're doing. When I started Run Tri Bike, the mission was to prove that there was a spot at the starting line for everybody and every body. This meant that we were going to tell stories of everyday athletes achieving their dreams and goals so that we could inspire others to get started in endurance sports. We would not be covering the Olympics or providing detail on the podium finishers of the biggest events in the world. We were going to share the stories of people who did not finish or finished last as well as those that had a dream for an event but did not start. Would we attract those that were only interested in who won event X or Y? Probably not and I was ok with that. I knew the voice that we wanted to project and that is the path we went on and have stayed on. Be who you are and not who you think the world wants to see. #smallbusinessmarketing #marketingandadvertising #jasonbahamundi

🌟 ⚾ Embracing Life's Unexpected Twists 🌟 🏈 In a recent episode of the "You Know I'm Right" podcast, ESPN's Adam Schefter shared a compelling anecdote about his early career aspirations. He candidly discussed his initial ambition to become the Colorado Rockies beat reporter when the team first launched. However, as fate would have it, this path didn't unfold as planned. Instead, Schefter pivoted to covering football and eventually rose to prominence as the top NFL reporter. This story serves as a powerful reminder that sometimes the things we ardently desire may not materialize, but that doesn't mean our journey is at an end. Often, unexpected detours lead us to opportunities we never imagined possible—ones that are bigger, better, and more aligned with our true calling. So, when life throws you a curveball, remember to stay resilient, adaptable, and open to new possibilities. Who knows? The setback you're facing today might just be the setup for your greatest triumph tomorrow. Do you agree? Catch Adam Schefter's enlightening discussion on Episode 278 of the "You Know I'm Right" podcast.
