Jcal from the All-in podcast out here really hitting the nail when it comes to the trend of nearshoring developers. Talent in certain professions is becoming a commodity, and as talent continues to be commoditized because of global reach and generative AI you might not need to build a team of 10x engineers to get ahead. What you might need to do is hire one or two 10x engineers you've worked with in the past and build a team of competent but much more cost effective engineers around them to move the needle forward. Build It helps you find the best engineers, designers, or operations folks in Mexico to help get your team to the next level and preserve your precious cash.

I had a chance to sit down with Shane Hastie and talk about Platform Engineering from a cultural and leadership perspective and the podcast is now up https://lnkd.in/dpAkR_ee Key Takeaways ⭐ Platform engineering is about empowering and enabling other teams to focus on creating value for the organization ⭐ A good platform engineering team has a non-blocking self-service mindset and is perceived as helpful but not intrusive ⭐ Building strong trusting relationships with development teams involves understanding their perspective and avoiding assumptions ⭐ Important success metrics for platform teams include developer efficiency and happiness, although measuring these can be challenging ⭐ Platform engineering is heading towards empowering development teams and internal developer platforms, but there is a risk of companies reverting to traditional operations-focused approaches InfoQ #platformengineering #engineeringleadership #engineeringculture

I refuse to use an AI voice clone for my podcast. (But I use AI voices for some videos & scenarios). The main reason I don't? Because I don't script my episodes. It's easier for me to outline key points. And it lets me share spur of the moment ideas. AI doesn't have to be all or nothing. For communication training, synchronous works well. ↳ AI can help you practice after & support application. For personal growth, a human mentor is crucial. ↳ AI can also be your on-demand growth coach. For ideating, many individuals bring diverse ideas. ↳ AI can help find commonalities & give unique ideas. It's up to us to find a balance between AI & human. P.S. Would you listen to a podcast with an AI voice?
