An Arxada energy customer faced a significant challenge in the Permian Basin: an oil and gas production field with sour production of 70-80 ppm H2S. The goal was to bring this down to less than 4 ppm H2S, the typical specification for sales gas lines. Turboscav™ GT, our latest innovation in H2S scavengers, was applied to treat the H2S problem cost-effectively, while eliminating the drawbacks of the incumbent scavenger: terrible odor and scaling (plus additional costs) stemming from its high pH. After application via a two-pronged approach - downhole and direct gas injection - Turboscav™ GT achieved the following results: • H2S levels as low as 0.1 ppm - well below the maximum allowed H2S level! • ~10% savings by eliminating the need for a scale inhibitor Turboscav™ GT also showed additional advantages over the incumbent technology.
