Whether you’re operating at an enterprise level or evaluating your own caseload management, having a clear definition of good and how to get there is at the heart of being a scientist practitioner.
Managing for quality in ABA services with the Juran Trilogy is quality planning, quality control, and quality improvement. These universal principles can be applied to any aspect of service delivery in an ABA service setting. For example, for the implementation of discrete trial training by an RBT, quality planning is a job aide that lists and describes the steps of conducting DTT; quality control consists of the actions the clinical supervisor takes to ensure that the RBT reliably and accurately implements all steps of DTT over time; quality improvement is a major increase from the baseline rate of accurate implementation of DTT by RBTs per week.
