Starting today we kick off our annual Week of Belonging here at DaVita Kidney Care! As I reflect back on my 6 years at DaVita, I am reminded of why I am grateful to work for a company that values my sense of belonging. Here at DaVita, we call our company a Village which I believe foster's our theme this year of "The Power of Together". To me, the elements of belonging include: 1. Being recognized for your unique contributions; Our perspective makes us who we are and builds a great team. My team includes so many talented recruiters that share their knowledge and experiences to make the best team I've been a part of. 2. Being connected to your coworkers; it's difficult working remote and feeling connected but we have a weekly "fun meeting" to be able to connect and feel a sense of belonging. 3. Support in daily work and career development; during my growth at DaVita I have always felt support and encouragement. I love to share my "DaVita Growth" story with candidates during interviewing! 4. Collective intelligence; I don't have all of the answers and my team is the best at sharing wisdom and bringing out the best in each other! Not only do I feel I belong this week of recognition, I feel I belong everyday! "That is part of the beauty of all literature. You discover that your longings are universal longings, that you’re not lonely and isolated from anyone. You belong." ~F. Scott Fitzgerald #DaVitaWay #Belonging365

Do you pay attention to your words, actions, and behavior? Your words and attitude can transform lives simply by being compassionate and kind. How many people have you positively impacted today? And how many people are you intentionally planning to impact in the coming weeks? In October 2017, Lara started working at Roche India. For three months, she would travel to Mumbai and then fly back to Caracas, where her family was. On her birthday, away from her family, a simple act of kindness not only changed her day but also her entire experience in a new country. It's a narrative that we at WorkCoherence hold dear - creating environments where every individual feels valued and at home. We're committed to building a culture where such acts of kindness are not the exception but the norm. Read Lara's full story and let's discuss how we can infuse more compassion into our daily professional interactions. #WorkCoherence #EmpathyAtWork #Kindness #HumanTouch #Leadership #CultureOfKindness #LaraBezerra #EmpatheticLeadership"

In October 2017, I started working at Roche India. For three months, I would travel to Mumbai and then fly back to Caracas, where my family was. During that time, I stayed at the Taj Hotels - Taj Land Ends, which provided me with such an interesting experience. It was the first time I had to be away from my husband and kids for an extended period of time! One of the most memorable moments was on November 1st, 2017 - my birthday. In the morning, I was feeling a bit moody. As someone brought me coffee with a smile on their face, they asked why. For some reason, I nostalgically told them it was my birthday and how much I missed being with my husband and children. The person's smile faded as they compassionately said: "I am very sorry for this ma'am; they are lucky to have you." This comment alone lifted me out of my sadness. Throughout the day, the warmth from my colleagues in the office elevated my spirits even more. When I returned to my hotel room later that day, my phone rang. The receptionist asked if I could come down to the business center for something urgent - though now I can't recall what excuse she used exactly. Without thinking twice about it, I left behind all personal belongings and made way towards the business center. To my surprise upon arrival at the business center, several staff members from the hotel were there waiting for me with a cake! They surprised me by singing Happy Birthday. Once they finished singing their heartfelt wishes for me, one of them spoke up immediately: "Ma'am we don't mean to replace your family but we want you to know that you are more than welcome here; we want you to feel like you're at home." They wished me a Happy Birthday once again before adding: "I couldn’t hold back tears despite not being able to celebrate with my family. This was one of the most remarkable birthdays I have ever had." The impact of one person's smile had already made a huge positive difference in my life, but this experience completely changed how I saw India and how much I looked forward to spending more years there. And oh, how badly did I want my family to know about Taj Land Ends and its amazing team... Do you pay attention to your words, actions, and behavior? Your words and attitude can transform lives simply by being compassionate and kind. How many people have you positively impacted today? And how many people are you intentionally planning to impact in the coming weeks? #LaraBezerra #WorkCoherence #LaraReflections #Leadership #HumanConnection #CompassionInBusiness #Empathy

Helping smart Pharma leaders close the gender gap without expensive external hires | Coaching | Mentoring
Day 6 of my advent calendar and what each window means in the context of professional women’s careers in pharma. Today - leave a slice for Santa. Not just any old slice but a slice Santa is interested in or that he needs. It’s about communication at work. It should never be about you or what you want to say. It should always be about what is their priority or need and how what you are talking about relates to it. So how can you link what you are saying to their priorities so you can communicate in a way that they will hear? And your part is to be clear about what you want them to think, feel and do after you’ve spoken to them. Communication is always about them. Not you. Which is why we leave Santa a mince pie, whether we like mince pies or not. He likes them and that’s what’s important. And yes. It’s blooming cold in here today. Hence the scarf! #professionalwomen #pharma #workingmothers #gendergap
