Flat lay fashion An edgy alternative to invisible mannequin. Many brands opt for flat lay photography to showcase their garments for a clean, simplistic but contemporary aesthetic. Often piecing the garments together to create “look book” content! Flat lay vs Invisible mannequin which is your brands preference?

Encouraging and advocating for the benefits of collaboration between creative and entrepreneurial women.
Branding photography tip! Think of the sun as a bit of a love/hate relationship! Does this make it our frenemy?!?! Of course we need to be lit in a way that shows off how amazing, strong and confident us entrepreneurs are, but the last thing we want to be doing is squinting, scrunching up our faces or be blasted with a weird mix of unflattering light and shadows. ☀️ Turn your back to the sun! In most instances this can give you a beautiful back light, giving your hair an ethereal shining glow, while also giving your face a soft and flattering light. ☀️Stratigic sun placement! Position yourself and the photographer so the sun is blocked by a building, tree, or in a pinch…. Someone very tall! ☀️F#@k the rules and just go for it. Put your self in the blasting sunshine but…. There are still some guidelines. -Make sure sunshine is on brand. If you are marketing goth makeup or raincoats, you might want a different location or time. -Choose accessories that match the vibe, like big sexy sunglasses, or a sun hat Be sure to follow my personal hashtag #sharpbrandingphotography for more brand photography tips #brandphotographer #branding #personalbranding #marketing #business #phototips

There is something I really want people to understand when it comes to my personal brand photography - it is not. about. the. photography. Much more is it a holistic process consisting of 5 main steps: 1. Our first outfit briefing call. Here I run you through the types of fabric, color and styles that work best for the camera and which ones you ought to avoid. I will also fill you in on a sneaky little secret fashion stylists use which I promise will make all the difference to your styling. 2. If you book the big package (most women do) then a professional hair and make-up artist with many years experience in fashion and advertising will be joining our shoot. They are sure to make you look like a superstar without ever overdoing it. Promise! 3. Together we will look through your outfits and discuss what you are trying to communicate about your brand and make a decision on which outfits and backdrop colors we want to use that day. I will usually aim to shoot as many outfits as possible to give you a big range of fresh looks and photos to work with. 4. I will help you with all the poses! My poses are tried and true and we will also be working on creating many moments that feel unstaged and give your photos an air of authenticity, fun and warmth. 5. You will get many, many photos. Depending on what size package you purchase I will edit from 50 to over 120 photos for you and you can use them all! There will be no hidden fees here. To showcase how much this process is different from many talented other personal brand photographers I am thankful that moderator and recent client Kristina Hentschel, MBA (we are not related, by the way :) allowed me to use a photo of her last personal brand shoot so I could show you how much it is different from the shoot we did together only last week. I think it really makes it obvious what booking a shoot with me is all about. If you have questions about any of this, feel free to contact me, I'd love to talk! #personalbrandphotography

Creating an impressive headshot involves a combination of factors, from proper preparation to skilled photography. Here's a guide on how to transform your headshot from "Meh" to "WOW": 1. Choose the Right Photographer: Look for a photographer with experience in portrait photography, especially headshots. Check their portfolio to ensure they have a style that resonates with you. 2. Communication is Key: Clearly communicate your expectations and the purpose of the headshot to the photographer. Whether it's for professional use, social media, or personal branding, understanding the context helps in achieving the desired result. 3. Wardrobe Selection: Wear clothing that complements your skin tone and brings out your personality. Solid colors often work well, avoiding distracting patterns. Consider the industry or purpose of the headshot when selecting your outfit. 4. Hair& Makeup/Grooming: Invest time in grooming before the shoot. Ensure your hair is well-styled, and consider a fresh haircut if needed. For makeup, keep it natural and enhance your features without overdoing it. 5. Lighting Matters: Opt for soft, diffused lighting that minimizes harsh shadows. If shooting indoors, work with the photographer to create a well-lit environment. 6. Pose Naturally: Your photographer should guide you through various poses to capture your best angles. Don't be afraid to express your personality through your expressions. 7. Background Selection: Choose a background that complements your Brand, appearance and doesn't distract from your face. Neutral colors or blurred backgrounds often work well to keep the focus on you. 8. Post-Processing Magic: Skilled post-processing can enhance your headshot further. This includes adjusting color tones, retouching minor imperfections, and ensuring the overall image looks polished. When was the last time you upgraded your headshot? https://lnkd.in/gthQCQJJ

📸 Optimize Your Headshot: Dos and Don'ts for a Winning Impression! 📸 In the digital era, your headshot often serves as your first introduction to the professional world. To ensure you make a lasting impression, here are some quick dos and don'ts for your next headshot session! Dos: Collaborate with a Pro: Choose an experienced photographer who aligns with your style. Communication is Key: Discuss your goals, wardrobe, and preferences with your photographer. Wardrobe Matters: Opt for solid colors, and bring a few options for variety. Lighting Choices: Whether natural or studio, choose what complements your style. Express Yourself: Experiment with facial expressions and body language for authenticity. Posing Gracefully: Work with your photographer to find flattering poses. Moderate Retouching: Enhance, but don't overshadow your natural features. Capture Variety: Take advantage of the session to showcase different facets of your personality. Don'ts: Last-Minute Wardrobe: Plan outfits in advance to save time and reduce stress. Overdoing Makeup: Keep it natural to enhance, not overpower. Grooming Neglect: Pay attention to details like hair, nails, and facial hair. Trendy Outfits: Opt for timeless clothing to avoid quick obsolescence. Background Distractions: Choose a background that complements, not competes. Poor Lighting Choices: Ensure balanced lighting that flatters your features. Static Expressions: Avoid blank or overly serious looks; showcase your personality. Skip Consultation: Discuss goals and preferences with your photographer for a successful session. Invest in a professional headshot to elevate your online presence and make a memorable impact! 🚀 #Headshot #ProfessionalImage #LinkedInTips 🌟 https://lnkd.in/gd-WWmqs

One of the services I provide is product photography. Products can range from wine, lingerie, soap, skincare, books and more! Whether you hire someone to take photos or you take photos of your products yourself, it's important to have an image of your product for customers. The best way for your customers to understand your product is to touch it, but we don't always have that luxury. An image can show how your product can be used, the details of the product, and the size and maybe even the smell. For example, an image of a candle with fresh ingredients explains to your customer the scent of the candle. This may seem simple, but it's definitely important. If you have a website and sell a product, that product needs to be on your website, otherwise, people won't understand what is being sold. Unless, of course you are an artist and draw the image...that would be an artistic way to show both your drawing skills and your products. If you like taking photos of your products, I encourage you today to get out there and snap some fun photos and share! Beautiful candles by Yo Soy Candle - company based in Portland, Oregon. #OregonPhotographer #ProductPhotographer #ProductPhotography #TigardOregon #BeavertonOregon #AdvertisingPhotography #ECommercePhotography
