Survival of the Fittest: LIONS vs LEOPARDS The struggle is real even for the most powerful of predators. In the battle for success who wins? Lions or leopards? Lions have an advantage. Being social and hunting together not only means you can take down larger prey like water buffalo, but it also means someone’s got your back in a confrontation. Leopards move through life largely solitary using stealth and agility to take down their prey. Antelope are a favorite in Queen Elizabeth National Park in Uganda where I watched some serious drama unfold. After taking down a kob, this female leopard was trying to drag her kill to the bushes so she could eat at her leisure. But today was not her day. Two lions came and chased her off her kill. If you want to learn more about competition between these two top predators, check out this video where I break down the relationship. #Nature #Wildlife #Ecosystems #Biodiversity #SpeciesCompetition #predators #predatorshowdown #naturedocumentary #ecology #scienceforall #sciencecommunication #animalbehavior #animalkingdom https://lnkd.in/eFfaBZ9Z
