Another tagalong post bc it’s been SUCH an impactful week… raising your hand to do something out of the norm can be an incredibly rewarding experience. I’m bouncing around between 🗽NYC (MACH Alliance Conference and Chief meetups) ❤️Philly (#Apartmentalize with HIO) 👦Fairfax (visit with family) 🍷DC area (Chief winery tour) {Flixbus and Amtrak ftw, btw} None of these are things I HAD to do, but (a) kids were gone for the week, and (b) I had the luxury of PTO to allow for interesting things happen. I fully realize taking a week to blitz around major cities isn’t realistic for everyone. (Honestly, if you’d told me in advance that I would thread the needle like this, I probably would have laughed at you.) For you, it may look like -volunteering at your kids’ schools, -going to a professional happy hour (I recommend taking a friend or spouse so you can be each other’s sidekicks), -signing up for an adult rec league, or -doing a single group class at your gym. You don’t have to change the world with one blip in your routine (although if you do, please share in the Comments!), but shifting your momentum for just a moment can enrich your perspective across all things. This often plays out in the midst of projects and/or professional daily life too, btw. And … who knows what kind of fun you’ll have along the way?! TL;DR: Take a chance on disrupting your norm to do something a little ‘extra’. What’s something you’ve stepped out for that was rewarding for you? 🎅 Ho Ho Ho! It's that time of year again, folks! With SantaCon coming up tomorrow, the question is, what do we do when we're too old for something, but still young at heart? While I may have hung up my full Santa suit a few years back, I've still got my trusty Santa hat ready to go. You see, when you reach a certain age, the thought of joining a sea of red and white at SantaCon becomes less appealing than a NYC condo board meeting... and that's saying something! 😂 Instead, I donned my festive hat at our networking group's Christmas party. It's a little less wild, but hey, at least there's no risk of getting lost in a blizzard of Santas! 🎄 But don't let my age fool you. Just because I'm not out there with the SantaCon crowd doesn't mean I'm not in the holiday spirit. In fact, I'm as jolly as ever, helping NYC coop and condo boards navigate the winter season with ease.
