Want a great idea for acquiring more monthly donors? Create a list of donors who have given to your organization multiples in the past year with cumulative gifts between $100 and $750. Call each donor and explain the benefits of monthly giving and ask them to give a monthly amount that is more than their cumulative giving. For example, if they gave you $150 cumulative in the past year, ask the donor for $15 a month. If the donor gave you $600 in the past year, ask for $60 a month. If they decline, you still have room to move your ask down to a lower number. We've done this multiple times - and it works! Now that you've acquired new monthly donors, time to audit your monthly donor experience ... but I'll save that for another post. #monthlydonors #nonprofit #fundraising

Have tried it. The problem is that for many cash donors there's no phone number on record in the CRM, so it's very hard to get scale with this approach. GDPR doesn't help either. Probably something that has more success in the USA where file sizes are much larger and GDPR is not a thing.
