Friday West network update: Looking for some outbound freight from CO/WY to ID, UT, and or PNW. It has to be shipper-direct and open to conversations about the freight characteristics to ensure it's a good fit(pretty disciplined carrier.) We got the trailers for preloading or dropping but need those specific directions. Capacity looks like 2-3 loads/day.

PTL vs. FTL vs. LTL. When should you use which mode? FTL: Large, full-trailer shipments and time-sensitive, no-stop cargo LTL: Smaller shipments of 5 pallets or less and no delivery rush PTL: Medium-sized shipments of 5-21 pallets and/or specialized freight with reduced lead times — the best of both worlds with the fast delivery of FTL and cost reduction of LTL. The National Motor Freight Traffic Association (NMFTA) has announced that major National Motor Freight Classification (NMFC) changes will take effect in the first quarter of 2025. The NMFTA is implementing a phased approach, with the first changes coming in 2025. Here's a summary: 1. Standardized density scale for LTL freight with no handling, stowability, and liability issues. 2. Unique identifiers for freight with special handling, stowability, or liability needs. 3. Condensed and modernized commodity listings. 4. Improved usability of the ClassIT classification tool. Click on the below story to access the NMFTA page regarding resources to learn more.
