The job description matters. A well-written job description increases interest in the role, qualified applicants, and clarity in the hiring process. Do not underestimate the power of a revised position profile. Recently, I hired for a role that traditionally was getting 10-15 applicants when posted. I re-wrote the description to include: benefits, hiring timeline, anticipated start date, who the role worked with, hours of operation. We got 222 applicants in 11 days after posting the new revised version. A good job description is marketing for your organization. Make it easy to read and include necessary information. #jobdescriptiondevelopment #jobdescription #increase #recruiting #recruiter #recruitment

Totally agree Jessye Kass, MBA - they are the first communication channel with your employer brand so getting it right is so important! In some cases the people reading it could be your future customers. If you’re transparent up front, it may give exceptional people, who may otherwise not apply, the confidence that this culture will follow through in the business. 💫

Jessye Kass, MBA I absolutely agree! I’m currently looking for my next role and if a job posting does not at least have the benefit information, I question how the company treats their employees. I’m not sure why I correlate the two, but I do!

This is so true. In my job search this time I am finding so many job descriptions lack basic info such as salary, place of work and benefits. They are also often unecessarily long, listing every single duty the person would be responsible for, which in my opinion makes it harder for the candidate to grasp the core of what the role really is about
