NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory’s Post

Meet Paul Rosen, the lead U.S. scientist on the upcoming NISAR mission. 🌏 This Earth-observing mission is a first-of-a-kind dual-band radar satellite that will help us better understand our planet's changing land and ice surfaces. It's scheduled to launch this spring from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in India: go.nasa.gov/4h1n2Bn

  • A visualization taken from NASA's Eyes on Earth website shows the NISAR spacecraft above Earth's clouds in low orbit. The clouds are white with bits of dark blue ocean peaking through as the gold-colored spacecraft soars above it. The spacecraft contrasts against the black canvas of space.
  • NISAR Project Scientist Paul Rosen of NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory is shown in a black suit with a red and blue striped tie and light blue dress shirt. He is set against a black background.

NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory thanks for sharing this exciting news. Full disclosure, I come from an educator lens vs scientific researcher... I was recently in Phoenix AZ where I took my 1st ride in a fully autonomous car (Waymo) The car uses lidar technology ( like radar -but light waves) Is this similar to the technology you will be using.?🌱 #Togetherwelearn
