What would happen if we suddenly discovered a large asteroid or comet headed for Earth? We have a plan. An impact is highly unlikely for the foreseeable future, but as a matter of practice, NASA leads a hypothetical asteroid impact “tabletop” exercise every two years to examine how well we are prepared to respond to such a scenario. Experts and decision-makers from several federal and international agencies participated in the most recent exercise, discussing how they would handle the many uncertainties of a hypothetical, yet realistic, impact event: https://lnkd.in/g6ATHvXu
Fascinating to see how NASA is proactively preparing for the unlikely but critical scenario of an asteroid impact! It's reassuring to know that experts and decision-makers are constantly refining our response strategies.
May I: Not to worry anyone, but I think our Muslim-American Scholars (and other Rel. Books) may share with us about the futuristic bombardment of Earth with asteroids? So, an ulternative maybe a Redundant Habitats up on the many planets up there? Just saying, you know .A Reader, that is all. So if there is any chance of such events, that may overwhelm our Defenses and Preps, why not plan ahead, and go the other way with new Human Habitats? Yeah, you know, like we say Survivors? True, the more and faster we can build those Habitats, the more Humanity that will survive such an event or events. Or should we sit around for the The Rel.’s who want to see it all end, for their satisfaction of inconceivable concepts? “Let’s play sitting ducks!”
Not to worry - we have Bruce Willis, Ben Affleck, Billy Bob Thorton, Steve Buscemi and Owen Wilson to save us and I'm sure Steve Tyler will be more than happy to provide a skin-tingling aria to accompany the proceedings, while Liv Tyler provides a - not unpleasant - distraction. All we need now is a big rocket, some nukes and a drill. #Armageddon 😂💥
Lazer guided- plasma based harmonic pulse generator, learn the objects frequency and reverse or enhance based on density
We humans can definitely come up with a solution and a fund but after we stop fighting with each other and taking over each other resources.
I think, it will be wise to get the asteroid on a temporary orbit around the earth. So, we can analyze it and learn more about it.
Kudos to NASA / JPL for these planetary defense sessions and projects like the DART mission. Humanity definitely don't want to go the way of the dinosaurs. Back to the Moon, to Mars, and Beyond! 🚀
Non zero chance and if it comes sun side you won’t catch it :). Life’s game, play well, nobody gets out alive.
