Hey everyone! I'd like to introduce you all to my new venture, chip-in.io! It's a project that I've been working on over the past few weeks. I'm building a new crowdfunding platform to make it easier to fund early-stage indie games. I started this because I've been hit by layoffs early this year. After sending hundreds of applications, I couldn't find a role in this volatile job market. My other option was to prototype a small indie game. But I was naive and got hit in the face the hard way. I realized that indie game developers today are forced to burn through their savings until the game is "ready for funding". It shouldn't be this way. Game development can still be a sustainable career. I spent lots of time talking with former colleagues and other indie game developers. I found a potential way to fund games with a lower barrier to entry, opening new opportunities for early-stage indie games. If you have a game idea that you want to fund, please try this out and submit your game at chip-in.io. We're aiming to launch with the first 100 games in November 2024. Thank you! Let's make great games! #gamedevelopment #gamedev #indiegames #videogames #crowdfunding #publishing #unity #unreal #kickstarter #indiegogo #patreon
Nice job Jet, I feel like the indie scene needed something like this which is specifically tailored to indie games, I’ll definitely try submitting my game!
That is an exciting initiative you are developing. I've submitted my game to you. Good luck with it!
