Some things are supposed to be timeless. Certain timepieces are seen as status symbols. But to several people, they culminate their journey to sustainable success. It’s a reward for all the hours they put into their profession and a sign they have made it. But as with everything else, there are those who want to take shortcuts. Last year saw an increase in watch theft ROLEX made up 44% of all watch thefts. No one wants to see something they worked hard to attain to be snatched away from them. Now if you have homeowners’ insurance, you may be under the false assumption that your watches are covered under the contents section of your policy. However, there is a sub-limit for theft that is usually 10k. if you know the prices of valuable timepieces then you know that isn’t nearly enough. But is there a solution? That would be an article personal floater which is commonly known as a collections policy. It is a very affordable policy that offers worldwide coverage for various valuable items. What does worldwide coverage mean? It means your items are protected anywhere, meaning whether it’s stolen or lost at your home or abroad you are protected. You can also customize your policy to either have blanket coverage with one set coverage or you can itemize your collection, putting a coverage on each individual item. We personally work with Abacus Insurance Brokers for these coverages. So don’t let your hard work be picked off with no protection. Ask us about a potential collections policy. Protect the timeless and priceless. https://lnkd.in/gPCG2dMa #WatchInsurance #JewelryInsurance #LuxuryInsurance #AssetProtection #InsuranceCoverage #RiskManagement #HighValueInsurance #TimepieceProtection #WatchesAndJewelry #InsuranceBroker #ValuablesInsurance #TimepieceCollector #FineJewelryInsurance #AssetSecurity #PreciousItemsInsurance #WatchCollector #InsuranceSolutions #CoverageOptions #ProtectYourInvestment

Jewelry store robberies and thefts are a serious concern for the industry both for the direct effects of such crime and the long term effects on the costs of running a business as well. That being said, it's a little odd that there are no statistics cited in this article or in the release from JM/JSA, just a vague statement about the severity of the increase. It's important to have that context so jewelers understand what the current environment is. Did the rate of robberies jump 200%? That's alarming. Did it jump from one robbery last year to two? That's less so. Are robberies up? That's bad. Are all of the robberies in one state? Maybe it's good to be aware, but not really freak out if you're in Alaska and the robberies took place in Illinois. Warnings like this are absolutely vital for the industry, but they need to be better contextualized to give actionable information rather than just being framed in the scariest terms possible.

By the grace of God & some highly stringent vetting, Our office has not had any issues (knocking on wood) even though we move a substantial amount of freight through California. One of the reasons for this I believe is we mostly use Carriers we have a ongoing relationship with or ones that have been referred by those carriers. Even with very careful Carriers problems CAN happen and you can not always stop the bad guy. So you must prepare. In this day of modern electronics that have come down incredibly cheap prices, we can give the edge to Law Enforcement with some of these things. Camera systems, Everything from multi cam systems with DVRs for a few hundred bucks to "cellular game cams" commonly used in hunting for $70-$250 Placing these discreetly where your truck or trailer is parked can capture anything from license plate numbers to pictures of faces with some pretty amazing clarity & time stamps. If Law Enforcement is provided these kind of leads it makes their job much easier and knowing that going in, your case may very well get more attention. Vehicle tracking devices is another winner here. From simple Apple airtags to stashing an old cell phone in the cab to various tracking devices. The availability of real time tracking can make recovery quicker and a better chance of a complete recovery and better yet a conviction of the bad guy. Our society isn't improving and truth being told it is getting worse. More & more people are joining the ranks of scum bags looking for an easy dollar. Make your potential target harder so the scumbag looks for an easier & less dangerous target. Jump on Google maps before going to a new P/U or delivery location and check out safe waiting or turn around areas and potential pinch points. 5 minutes of research may save you a lot in deductibles, higher insurance premiums, loss of work while replacing equipment or even your (God forbid) your life. https://lnkd.in/gEEZWuTZ

Different products require different strategies to protect them in-store and may require different strategies to investigate losses. We also know that products with specific characteristics are more likely to be stolen—these are typically discussed using the CRAVED model (see below). In other words, products that have more of these characteristics are more likely to be the target of theft than those that have fewer.
