All of these Psychologists have certainly made important contributions. But using citation metrics to rank "Top" scientists ignores the many other ways that scientists contribute to or harm scientific progress. As we've recently seen in various fraud and questionnable research practice investigations in the behavioral sciences, some scientists may look astounding on a limited number of dimensions such as citations or publications, but pollute the scientific literature with unreliable research or as toxic mentors and colleagues. By focusing on individual achievements, such metrics incentivize scientists to do whatever is best for their careers, regardless of what is best for science. We need to move towards a system when scientists are rewarded or punished for their entire range of contributions to science, not just their individual achievements. This is a pretty cool accolade to have and a great group of colleagues to be in.

I've noticed that practices most successful in their partnership with Mascotte share certain traits. These characteristics are not unique to any single client but are commonly seen in those who fully harness our services. A prime illustration of these attributes is seen in practices such as WoofDoctor On Wheels led by Dr. Douglas Cifranick. They serve as a model for how integrating Mascotte into daily operations can greatly benefit a practice. Here's what enables them and other successful practices to fully leverage Mascotte: 1- Treating Mascotte as a "Real" Team Member: Successful practices ensure that our techs & veterinary assistants are fully integrated into their teams, with a seamless onboarding and communication process akin to that of their own staff. 2- Investing in Relationship Building: They recognize the importance of forming real connections with their dedicated Mascotte techs, a strategy that enhances our collaboration and contributes to shared achievements. 3- Consistent Communication: Keeping open lines of communication, especially early on, allows them to quickly address any issues, leading to smoother operations. 4- Clearly Defined Roles and Processes: These practices have a clear understanding of the tasks Mascotte should handle, supported by effective systems to track progress and outcomes, and provide feedback. 5- Digital-first: Having a digital-first mindset embedded in the practice's DNA enhances collaboration, making these practices particularly adept at integrating and benefiting from Mascotte's tech-enabled support.
We ❤️ our clients and are so honored to be part of their journeys ✨

This past weekend, I had the privilege of attending a leadership boot camp organized by the Higherlife Foundation in collaboration with Young and Dynamic. As a representative of the University of Zimbabwe, actively engaged in leading community engagement projects, this experience provided a significant opportunity for personal and professional growth. The camp focused on team building and personal development, essential components of effective leadership. Through a variety of activities—both enjoyable and challenging—I gained valuable insights into the identity of a leader, as well as the necessary skills and roles associated with leadership. It is an honor to have take back some great lessons and scares. Key lessons learned include: The Importance of Leadership Hierarchies: I realized that even leaders require guidance. In a group of 21 individuals, it is not necessary for everyone to take on every task; a few skilled individuals can effectively represent the team. The Centrality of Teamwork: Effective collaboration is crucial. Understanding the skills and competencies of each team member ensures that we can leverage the right talents when needed. Our goal is unity in diversity, working together to achieve our objectives. Networking as a Relationship Builder: The camp provided an excellent platform for networking with peers from various universities and backgrounds. Engaging with coaches was particularly enriching, as it allowed me to learn from their experiences while also facilitating opportunities for others to gain knowledge. Stepping Outside Comfort Zones: One activity prompted me to confront my hesitations and participate despite my initial reluctance. This experience underscored the idea that excuses can hinder our growth and limit our opportunities for learning. Indeed, excuses make you seem so small Embracing the Present: This lesson speaks for itself and emphasizes the importance of being fully engaged in our experiences. I would like to take this opportunity to thank our patrons Mr and Mrs. Masiywa Tsitsi Masiyiwa, Mrs. Molobi Elizabeth Tanya Masiyiwa and the entire Higherlife Foundation leadership for granting us platforms like these to grow.
Productive and inspiring weekend at our team-building camp with the Higherlife Foundation Leaders! Grateful for the opportunity to strengthen our bonds, sharpen our strategies, and refocus on our shared mission. Together, we're more committed than ever to empowering individuals and communities across Africa. Onward to even greater impact!

Sometimes, letting the engineering team speak to the real problems can motivate the client towards real solutions. This whole notion of sales teams and engineering teams not being on the same page is a problem that I continually have to solve for companies, when brought in to handle "system issues". Sales teams provide feedback for engineers on the customer experience, and defines the fiscal opportunity/risk. Engineering teams provide insights to sales on design decisions, scheduling, known solutions, and should be the metric for a businesses productivity levels. It's very common for sales and engineering teams to not be on the same page, and the worst part of it is the number of companies who are okay keeping these skeletons in the closet - because who wants to take responsibility for the problem when it's you? #engineeringproblems #technicaldebt #brokencode #spaghetti #cicd #mismanagement #guidelines #regulations #procedures #mobileapp #softwaredeveloper
We've all been here 😅

What I loved about living in Ireland, apart from great Guinness and friendly people who always opened their doors to a Saffer - rugby helped to create strong relational equity and trust between Ireland and SA - was that these were God fearing people who had been betrayed by other nations in the past. That made them 'awake' to any new threats of further betrayals. This makes for a good running partner. Those who value justice and equality for all face a crucial moment to unite against injustice and human rights violations. Ireland's history of oppression and struggle for independence has indeed shaped its national consciousness and foreign policy. This background has led to a strong sense of solidarity with other oppressed peoples, including Palestinians. Key points: 1. Historical context: Ireland's experience with colonialism and the Great Famine has fostered empathy for other marginalised groups. 2. Current stance: Ireland has been vocal in its support for Palestinian rights and critical of Israeli policies in Gaza. 3. Public opinion: A majority of Irish people view the situation in Palestine as #apartheid, according to recent quantitative research data. 4. Government action: Ireland recently recognised the State of Palestine and has called for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza. 5. Protests: There have been widespread pro-Palestinian demonstrations across Ireland. 6. International law: Ireland emphasises the importance of adhering to international law and human rights conventions. This alignment with Palestine reflects Ireland's historical experience and its commitment to standing against injustice on the global stage. This example demonstrates how a nation's past struggles can inform its current foreign policy and foster solidarity with other oppressed peoples.
