JFHQ-DODIN's Deputy Commander Air Force Brig. Gen. Heather Blackwell, Executive Director Mr. Wendell (Dell) Foster, and Director of Operations Army Col. Michael Reeder had great interviews with Fed Gov Today and GovCIO Media & Research at #TechNetCyber 2024 today to discuss our ability to outpace the threat and maintain a position of advantage as we direct & synchronize unity of action to secure, operate, and defend the DODIN.
As a fellow Global War on Terrorism (GWOT) veteran, I’ve been reflecting on the importance of honesty and integrity in how we represent our military service, both personally and publicly. The concept of “stolen valor”—when someone falsely claims a rank or combat experience they didn’t earn—can be troubling, especially when it contradicts the very Army values we hold dear: Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Selfless Service, Honor, Integrity, and Personal Courage.
These values are the foundation of what it means to be a soldier, and they guide us in our roles within the National Guard. The Guard’s commitment to our Nation is “Always Ready, Always There.” Every day, they demonstrate their unwavering obligation to protecting and serving the American people.
Leadership in the military is more than just rank; it’s about trust, accountability, and standing by your unit, especially during challenging times. For those of us in the National Guard, this means not only being prepared to deploy where our nation needs us, but also embodying these values in everything we do, both in and out of uniform.
As I think about how these values should guide us in every aspect of our lives, I’m curious to hear from others, veterans, service members, and supporters alike. How do we continue to uphold these principles of loyalty, integrity, and honor in our daily interactions and decisions, whether we’re in the field, at work, or in our communities?

Minnesota National Guard confirms Gov. Tim Walz did *not* retire as a command sergeant major like he has publicly claimed, says he was demoted.
Army Lt. Col. Kristen Augé made the statement to Just The News.
"[Walz] retired as a master sergeant in 2005 for benefit purposes because he did not complete additional coursework at the U.S. Army Sergeants Major Academy," Augé said.
Walz biography on his website claims that "Command Sergeant Major Walz" retired from the Minnesota National Guard in 2005, as noted by Just The News.
@AlphaNewsMN details how Walz quit the Army National Guard to run for Congress in 2005.
"He abandoned us," said Tom Behrends who took Walz's place.

Would be great to get thoughts about the current situation WRT SF’s value proposition and the current situation with respect to recruiting and force fill.
Word on the street is that recruiting is down, the Global War on Terror generation of soldiers is retiring, and SOF has been directed to cut personnel.
Fran Racioppi challenged the U.S. Army John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center and School Command Team, Commanding General Brigadier General Will Beaurpere and Command Sergeant Major Lee Strong from the JFK Special Warfare Museum at Fort Liberty, NC, to share how they are meeting the personnel needs of the Regiment while enforcing standards, continuously improving professionalism, and integrating technology and automation into the force.
