My New Year message to you is about balance. Specifically, it's that we should not seek it! Think about it - when was the last time when you were perfectly balanced? That startup you launched, that degree you earned, that promotion you worked for - none of them came with balance. The real secret isn't in perfect balance - but in creating "margin" in your life. It's that space & time between things you create for yourself that helps you keep going. "There is no such thing as work-life balance. Everything worth fighting for unbalances your life." , is a quote by Alain de Botton that has propelled me through some very unbalanced times. And this video is largely inspired by it too. A thought for Friday: We all know the buzzwords "work-life balance" or even the more evolved "work-life harmony" that Jeff Bezos suggests. But how do we achieve any of it? 😅 The real question, with a star, is how to balance it when you’ve got a family with 3 kids in different age groups? (If you know, you know! 😉) It’s like work-work-work-life balance, because life only really starts once all the school emails are sorted, after-school activities are planned, doctor visits are booked, trips and events are organized, dinner is somehow miraculously ready... and the list goes on and on. Sounds like a dream to achieve, right? That would be too much even for 4 parents not talking about 2. Well, here’s my way of making it work: Find that one thing that is very, very you and do it regularly. Whether it’s a hobby or sport – it doesn’t matter. If it’s sports, you’re lucky because you can combine necessity with passion. But if not – do your sport and go for your PASSION anyway. It will fuel you with unspeakable amount of energy and fun!
