Support the Riverguard Early Warning System Our planet, our home, our friends, our life, our property will not be safe if we don't support the development of the Riverguard Early Warning System. 🌧️ Autumn is here, and with it, a major flood disaster in Central Europe. 🌊 Many people are suffering as water destroys their homes. Living in Vienna, I’ve seen firsthand what it means when water becomes a force beyond our control. We cannot stop the water – it flows with a power that overwhelms everything in its path, and we are left to witness the damage it brings. But while we can't stop the water, we can choose how we respond to its impact. That’s why I have decided to donate half of my current courses revenue to support the flood victims. The funds will go to "Österreich hilft Österreich," an initiative dedicated to helping those affected by these floods (IBAN: AT06 2011 1800 8076 0700, BIC: GIBAATWW). Every act of kindness, no matter how small, makes a difference. Helping feels good. Let's stand together and support those in need. <3 #SupportFloodVictims #HelpFeelsGood #AustriaHelpsAustria

Hi everyone. I created a go fund me trying to send money to them to help at least ONE family to recover from it. Can we help more? It depends how many people here will be mind affected by this catastrophe and will decide to help them… Link for donation: https://gofund.me/fc8f07d2

Excited to share about the tech non-profit I’ve started with some talented colleagues and friends — the eMunah Water Crisis Platform!💧 We set out to help fill a gap in getting universal access to clean water for all across the world. This is still a huge problem today, and we are excited to have an ecosystem where we can join together to help NGOs (Non-Governmental Organizations) end it. We’ve got exciting features planned this Fall based on the great feedback from our water crisis NGOs! After observing #WorldMentalHealthDay, I couldn’t help but think about the victims of #HurricaneHelene and #HurricaneMilton.... The current crisis is personal to me because I attended Loyola University of New Orleans during Hurricane Katrina in 2005. I know what it means to watch close ones loose everything and rebuild from absolutely nothing. Most homeowners in the impacted areas, particularly in Florida's barrier islands, lack flood coverage, with only 25% to 5% of residents in hard-hit counties having insurance. 💡 Nationwide, #FEMA estimates that only 4% of homeowners possess flood insurance, despite the fact that 99% of U.S. counties have experienced flooding since 1996. As many of us know in the #insuranceindustry, #floodinsurance must be purchased separately from standard #homeownerpolicies, often through the federal government, and is typically required for government-backed mortgages in high-risk areas. However, many homeowners drop this coverage once their mortgage is paid off. If you’d like to help, CNN has a link that allows you to spread a monetary donation across 9 individual Non-profits that provide boots on the ground support to Hurricane Victims. #MarshMcLennan #MMA #Insurance https://lnkd.in/eFYDde4k

Supporting Each Other in Tough Times Today, my heart is especially full as I think of my son, who is in Georgia working as a lineman to help restore power after recent storms. During a call this morning, I learned about a recruiter from Pennsylvania who is organizing clothing donations for a neighborhood in NC that has been hit hard by these events. This serves as a powerful reminder of how we come together during difficult times to support one another. In Texas, we can also play a role in these efforts. If you’re interested in helping, here are a few ways to get involved: Gather Donations: Consider collecting clothing or supplies that can be sent to those in need. Connect with Local Organizations: Reach out to local shelters or relief efforts that may be coordinating donations. Spread the Word: Share information about how others can contribute, whether through monetary donations or in-kind support. Let’s show the strength of our community and help those who need it most. https://lnkd.in/gmCTPBNB #CommunitySupport #Solidarity #HRforGood #GiveBack

Parts of Louisiana experienced an EF 1 and 2 tornado. Here is some information that will help you better understand response times and how the government determines disaster funding. What you need to understand is: 1. Each state must meet a damage threshold (estimated cost of damages) to be considered for federal funding. 2. Local and state officials begin to assess damages as soon as its "safe," to do so. 3. Immediately after a disaster and while the government surveys the seen, it is best to contact your local nonprofit or faith base community for assistance (only in the affected area) Follow along as I begin to break down this process tomorrow.
