State Legislative Changes: 1. Especially for any business and restaurant. How often do you follow yearly or bi-yearly( like Texas) updated laws and guidance regarding services dogs? Using Texas as an example, Texas passed updated animal cruelty laws and misrepresentation of a pet or emotional support dog as s Service Dog that include fines and community service time. 2. Unfortunately, police departments at all levels do not receive training or implantation so I’m developing a presentation that I hope will help correct the oversight.

It is one thing to pass a law to help animals, but it is another to ensure that the law is enforced. This is why partnerships with stakeholders are crucial in enforcement of Texas animal cruelty laws. I am proud of stakeholders coming together this week to educate local law enforcement on the Safe Outdoor Dogs Act. Trying to figure out why a law isn't being enforced might be as easy as picking up the phone, and explaining why it should be enforced, in which it was ultimately for this dog and others. https://lnkd.in/g4rxumgP

Captive CON$ervation Exposed: “10 Notorious Animal Abusers 'Tiger King' Didn't Expose” PETA Foundation attorneys helped to secure a first of its kind courtroom victory establishing that prematurely separating federally protected big-cat cubs from their mothers and using them for public encounters violates federal law. And now that the Big Cat Public Safety Act has passed, preventing hands-on public interactions with big-cats, PETA is focusing on businesses that tear other baby animals away from their mothers and exploit them for photo ops and other hands-on interactions. The primary blame for such exploitation should be directed at the nefarious individuals and organizations that continue to facilitate hands-on “ambassador animal” programs. That being said, at some point in time the public must take responsibility for engaging in and supporting such exploitative exotic animal encounters. In 2024, ignorance and ego are no longer acceptable or viable excuses. https://lnkd.in/g94teJ-X #captiveconservation #bcpsa #TigerKing #AmbassadorAnimal #ambassadoranimals #TheConservationGameMovie #peta

Victory for Animals in the State of Texas!! 🙌 The new law House Bill 598 to deter repeat animal abusers has passed!! 👏 It states that if an individual is found to have abused an animal, they will be banned from animal ownership for 5 years. If a person violates this law, it will be treated as a Class C Misdemeanor. Legislators in Austin were working for years to draft a law that would crack down on those who abuse animals. Now that House Bill 598 has become law, they hope it accomplishes it’s intention. Animal abuse is a serious form of cruelty and offenders should be punished accordingly. Did you know that Texas ranked the highest for animal cruelty in the US? Let’s hope this new law is enforced successfully and deters repeat animal abusers!! Animals deserve it!! 🙏 Read More: New Texas Law Looks To Deter Animal Abuse In The State | https://lnkd.in/dwW_92pq

Penalties for animal abuse vary by jurisdiction, but they generally aim to reflect the seriousness of the crime and deter future acts of cruelty. Depending on the severity of the abuse, individuals convicted of animal cruelty may face consequences such as fines, probation, mandatory counseling or education programs, community service, or even imprisonment. In some cases, courts may impose restrictions on future pet ownership or order the individual to undergo psychological evaluations. Additionally, laws increasingly recognize the significance of animal abuse as a warning sign for potential violence against humans, leading to stricter penalties and initiatives to address the issue more comprehensively. The penalties for animal abuse aim to send a clear message that the mistreatment of animals is unacceptable and will not be tolerated in society. #protectanimals

Should the punishment for animal cruelty be intensified? Who doesn't love animals? I know I do! What is the typical punishment for abusing a pet? What about running a fighting ring? The worst of all is murder. What is the typical state punishment for killing an innocent animal just because? I will dive into this question in a short research essay. Do you agree with my findings and opinion or not? The District of Columbia plus 33 U.S. states say it’s a felony! Many states now require psychological evaluation when animal abuse has happened as well as cross-training social workers who come in contact with animal abuse during other incidents such as domestic violence and child abuse. Some of the states that have the best animal abuse punishments are Maine, Oregon, Washington, Florida and many others. Maine was ranked #1 in 2023 for their animal protection laws. Kentucky along with New Mexico have no laws punishing animal abusers.

Apart from the dog owner, other parties responsible for dog bite injuries might include landlords or property owners who were aware of a dangerous dog on their premises but didn't take proper action. Animal control officers could also be held accountable if they failed to quarantine or contain the dog appropriately after being identified as dangerous. Choose a team that cares.
