This standard distinguishes between adjusting and non-adjusting events, which can have significant implications on the financial statements. Adjusting events provide evidence of conditions that existed at the end of the reporting period and require adjustments to the amounts recognized in the financial statements. Non-adjusting events are indicative of conditions that arose after the reporting period and do not require adjustments but may need disclosure.
