The Jitasa Boise Team had a great VTO day last week, supporting the Idaho Foundation for Parks & Lands’ clean-up project of the Gregerson Property in the Barber Pool Conservation Area! The group was tasked with surveying the property for junk, recyclables, and other large objects. Thank you to everyone who came out to help for a job well done!

Most influential storyteller in my lifetime and my daughters. Bringing our planet to life with his team of talented specialists to bring the natural world and its fragility, beauty and significance for life to everyone. #attenborough #lifeonearth Everything comes to life with a well told story that holds your attention, with a clear narrative and visual assets to illustrate this. Human traits such as a unique view, passion and empathy are where ai still has a really long way to go! Ask yourself: Who is your most influential storyteller? What attributes do they have that engages you? Then Look at your own business, organisation, charity, non profit or simply a new product and see if you are telling the best version of the story? Does it cut through? Is it memorable? (Or just a lot of buzz words and ai chopped up into a paragraph? Visually do you have a distinct personality to help tell the story? do you have enough visual tools to engage the viewer? Are you consistent with them and the content you generate? #brandbuilding #apicturetellsathousandwords #brandassets #morethanalogo #brandpersonality #tellyourstory #brandstories #visual #verbal #assets #brandbuilding #humanstories #fromtheheart

Today we would like to give a HUGE THANK YOU to our third official NARD 14 sponsor, Climate Healers! Climate Healers is a non-profit dedicated towards healing the Earth's climate, leveraging decades of systems engineering expertise in order to devise practical solutions. Climate Healers primarily focuses on the main driver of climate change that is more powerful than all other drivers combined: animal agriculture. Conveniently, it is by far the easiest, quickest and least expensive one to address. People everywhere could just go vegan, making it possible to get climate change under control at the end of our forks. This necessitates transforming our socioeconomic system into one organized around restoring the biodiversity of the planet, while creating a more peaceful and just world. You can learn more about Climate Healers’ work at https://lnkd.in/eXWRe8x THANK YOU Climate Healers for being an official NARD sponsor and helping us spread the message of animal rights (and healing the Earth) around the world!! 💙

Our animals like to eat and they can eat a lot! That's why we are grateful to FirstEnergy for their regular donation of tree trimmings, or browse, to our animals! As the electric company routinely trims trees throughout the community to help prevent or minimize the impact of tree-related power outages and enhance electric service reliability, we collect a portion to feed the animals. Our hoofstock and primate species, such as the lemurs, alpacas, goats and tufted deer, receive the trimmings daily. The sticks, leaves and buds are high in fiber and an important part of their diet. Chewing on browse can also improve dental health. Learn more at https://lnkd.in/g6QBKqnU.

[Seeking GPU Support for Marine Animal Conservation: Your Help is Needed!] I am the head of the Drone Video Analysis (DVA) LAB. We are currently collaborating with the Marine Animal Research & Conservation (MARC) to advance marine animal research and conservation efforts. Currently, we are in urgent need of GPU support to run our AI services. GPUs are essential for AI research and running AI services. Our goal is to utilize AI technology to help conserve the habitat of the Indo-Pacific bottlenose dolphin and assist researchers in drone-based natural science. However, as we prepare to launch our AI service, we are struggling financially to build a server with GPUs, and we need your help. If you have any unused GPUs or can assist us through donations, it would be immensely helpful! Additionally, we are looking for companies or organizations that can provide GPU services to non-profits at discounted rates or for free. If you know of any such providers, please let us know. We also welcome corporate sponsors and individual patrons who support our mission. Your support will significantly empower us to create social value and develop AI solutions for marine ecosystem conservation. Interested parties can send me a direct message or leave a comment on this post. Image credit: ChatGPT #AI #GPU #Support #nonprofit #computervision

🤣So Ray Hadley decided to repeatedly call me a 'd**ckhead' and a w**nker because he doesn't like people who stand up for our native wildlife, mountain streams and National Parks staff by backing effective feral horse control in Kosciuszko National Park... Have a listen to the unhinged outrage from Ray Hadley, and the One Nation MP he has a guest on his top rating 2GB Sydney radio show, just because I compare the anti-science approach of those arguing against feral horse control to the approach of antivaxxers and climate change deniers. Here's what I had to say that got him so worked up: 📻 Jack Gough: "Confusion and the skepticism around the numbers is no different to vaccine denial. This is people deliberately cherry-picking science to fit an argument because they do not want to see any of those horses removed. We know that the numbers are too many. We know that those numbers are growing, and we know that the impacts are far too big. And, that if we do not get on top of this population, we're going to have to kill more feral horses in order to get those numbers down." Clinton Maynard (Journalist): "So just to clarify that, you're saying that Emma Hurst, Rob Roberts, the National Party MPs in the Upper House, so you're probably talking about 10 MPs, they are basically the equivalent to anti-vaxxers?" Jack Gough: "I'm saying that yes, the numbers are clear, the science is clear. It's been done through peer reviewed processes using the best available scientific method. And there are people out there deliberately cherry-picking science, deliberately making arguments around numbers to fit their own narrative because they do not want to see a single feral horse removed. So, let's be really clear. This is not about, ‘oh, what are the numbers, we really want to get the right numbers’. This is about people who do not want to see a single feral horse removed. And because of that, are cherry-picking science. And this is no different to anti-vaxxers." Ray Hadley: "Rod [Roberts], do you know this dickhead?"

Today my colleague David Schedl had the pleasure to present parts of our last year’s research collaboration with KFV Kuratorium für Verkehrssicherheit at the International Conference on Computer Aided Systems Theory (EUROCAST). The work from David, Andreas Stöckl and myself deals with the utilization of Gaussian Mixture Models for representing wildlife accident risks based on geo-referenced animal detections from airborne recordings. The underlying computer vision algorithms are part of our ongoing research project #BAMBI (Fachhochschule Oberösterreich, Hagenberg Campus - FH Upper Austria). #computervision #gaussianmixturemodels #statistics #wildlife #detection #accident #risk
