🌟 Day 1 of 100: Embracing New Beginnings 🌟 Today marks the start of a 100-day journey where I'll share insights on transitioning from military life to the civilian workforce. 🔹 Today's Focus: Adaptability. In the military, we're trained to adapt to ever-changing environments, a skill that's invaluable in the civilian workplace. 🔹 Inspirational Quote: "In preparing for battle I have always found that plans are useless, but planning is indispensable." - Dwight D. Eisenhower. This quote reflects the essence of the military-to-civilian transition. It's about the ability to adapt plans and strategies to new circumstances. 🔹 Discussion Time: How has adaptability influenced your career? To my fellow veterans, how did your military service prepare you for adapting to the civilian world? 🔗 #MilitaryTransition #Day1of100 #AdaptabilityInAction #VeteranInsights #CivilianWorkforce

𝗡𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: 𝗔 𝗩𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗻’𝘀 𝗝𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗲𝘆 𝗕𝗲𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺 Transitioning from military to the civilian world is more than just a change in jobs—it’s a shift in 𝙞𝙙𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙞𝙩𝙮, 𝙥𝙪𝙧𝙥𝙤𝙨𝙚, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙢𝙪𝙣𝙞𝙩𝙮. After 18 years of service, I’ve walked that path, and I’ve seen firsthand the challenges veterans face in finding their place in a new world. The skills we honed in the military—leadership, resilience, teamwork—are invaluable, yet translating them into civilian terms can be daunting. But remember, the journey is not one you have to walk alone. Support systems, whether through coaching, mentorship, or peer networks, are out there to guide us. As we take off the uniform, we don’t leave our values behind. Instead, we bring them forward to build new legacies. Let’s embrace this transition as an opportunity to redefine success on our own terms. #VeteranTransition #LifeAfterService #VeteranSupport #MilitaryToCivilian #ResilienceInTransition #NewBeginnings #ChristianLifeCaoch

The issue of individual "isms" is one that many people struggle with. It is disheartening to witness individuals being downgraded or overlooked for awards that they rightfully deserve, due to factors that are unrelated to their performance and dedication. Such practices not only call into question the fairness of our awards system, but they can also significantly impact the morale of those who serve with distinction. When people see their peers being unfairly judged or unrecognized, it can lead to a significant decrease in motivation and initiative. The willingness to go above and beyond, to take that extra step for the sake of the mission, relies on the belief that one's contributions will be justly and fairly acknowledged. If this belief is compromised, it could lead to a decrease in proactive engagement and innovation among our ranks. It is essential that we maintain a system where honors and recognitions are awarded based on objective criteria of valor, commitment, and excellence, in accordance with standardized policies. By doing so, we not only preserve the prestige of these awards, but we also ensure that our service members feel valued and motivated to continue serving with dedication and distinction. As having the honor of educating hundreds of senior Marines over four recent years, I can tell you that this is an issue plagued by more people than we would like to admit. We are taught to be selfless and not work for an award, so we NOT dare mention these inequalities that hurt us everytime we wear our service uniforms. Scott H. Stalker thank you for being an amazing leader! Great post Sir! #MilitaryHonor #ServiceRecognition #LeadershipIntegrity #vitamina2d #a2dleadership #a2d #leadership

🎥 Reflecting on Military Awards: A Transition to Civilian Rewards In this video, I discuss a topic close to my heart: military awards and their transformation as we transition from service to civilian life. Let’s delve into this thought-provoking journey. 🎖️ The Military Awards Journey: Military honors are more than just ribbons and medals. They symbolize sacrifice, valor, and dedication. Each award represents moments of courage, resilience, and camaraderie. Whether it’s the Purple Heart, Silver Star, or a commendation, these accolades weave a tapestry of service and commitment. 🌟 The Shift Beyond Uniforms: What happens when we hang our uniforms? As we step into civilian shoes, the landscape changes. The tangible medals fade, yet their essence remains. Our new rewards take different forms: Freedom: Beyond the barracks, we can choose our path. We’re no longer bound by orders but empowered by choices. It’s a medal we wear invisibly—a reminder that we shape our destiny. Time: In the military, time is regimented. As civilians, we reclaim it. We savor weekends with loved ones, leisurely mornings, and the luxury of pursuing passions. Time has become our most precious currency. Family: Our military family extends beyond bloodlines. But as civilians, we cherish our biological families—the laughter around dinner tables, the bedtime stories, and the shared milestones. Family becomes our ultimate reward. 🚀 Embracing the Transition: As we navigate this transition, let’s honor our military awards while embracing the intangible rewards of freedom, time, and family. They define our civilian journey, reminding us that life’s greatest treasures lie beyond the medals on our chests. 👉 What are your thoughts? Our academic boot camps challenge each student veteran differently. Regardless of the difficulties faced, each participant walks away with more knowledge, new skills, and a better understanding of how to excel in a classroom environment. For us, the #WSPimpact isn’t defined by how great a presentation is given, or whether the students completed their problem sets correctly. Instead, our impact is defined by this: Do they believe? For David Blanco, he believes. Click the link to learn more about David and his journey from the US Army to Carnegie Mellon University. #veterans #highereducation #military https://bit.ly/4gXThCi

PreVeteran Founder | We Train Military & Veteran Talent for Private Sector Employment | Corporate & Higher Ed Training
PreVeteran is in DC at the Modern Day Marine Conference! If you're at the conference, stop on by and say hello to me and Bill Barrington! At this conference we are reinforcing the message that the current program of record—TAP/TRS—is doing it's best, it's falling short in preparing #marines for their post military lives. ❌ A poor military transition impacts individual Marines ❌ A poor military transition impacts Marine Families and relationships ❌ A poor military transition impacts readiness ❌ A poor military transition impacts recruiting It's high time to rethink transition with an enduring program that helps the service member understand: 🔷 The military and private sector environment are COMPLETELY different 🔷 As a result, all service member have large gaps that need to be filled 🔷 That iterative career exploration pathway with tools, a model, and support are the only way to really zero in a post-military career All of this, and more, we already do a PreVeteran. We'd also like to thank the Wyoming Business Council for sponsoring us and other Wyoming companies like Legacy HDPE, Brunson Instrument Company, and Victor Company. #militarytransition #transitioningmilitary #preveteran #wellness Aaron, Joe, Nicholas, Shawnda, Jonny, Joshua, Matt, Matt, Bobby, Vic, Naviere, Dixon, 🎣Sara, Erik, Jack, Todd, Michelle, Stuart, Matthew, Ceir, José, Heather

Something to think about
On this #ThankfulThursday, we want to spotlight John Valentine, a US Navy Veteran, who generously volunteers his time and expertise to assist our students in refining their resumes. "The opportunity to pay it forward to fellow Veterans is deeply meaningful to me,” shares John. “When Veterans learn how to showcase their potential, their fulfilling employment betters our communities and our world.” Thank you for making a difference, John!
