I recently read “The Cold Start Problem” by Andrew Chen and one thing really stood out to me: Startups should focus first on what doesn’t scale. Most of what we do at Ambition Unboxed doesn’t scale. We’re not unicorns, but we do have lofty aspirations to help move a significant number of women+ into executive roles. We may never get there, but every woman+ energized along the way matters. And at the end of the day, that’s enough.
As we reflect on 2024, what jumps out the most is how grateful we are for this community of ambitious women. Your interest, engagement, sharing, and support co-create the Ambition Unboxed community with us. Thank you for sharing your talents, expertise, and ambitions with us! May 2025 bring us even closer together!

As we welcome the #NewYear, let's commit to minimizing interruptions for women. We can achieve this by voicing our support with phrases like, “I want to hear the rest of [Name’s] perspective” or “That’s a valuable point raised by [Name]. Let’s take a moment to explore it further before proceeding.” If you’re facilitating a meeting, help reduce disruptions by adhering to an agenda and encouraging structured participation. You could say, “Let’s take turns and gather everyone’s insights.” Additionally, consider inviting specific women in the discussion to share their thoughts.

Last week, we had the pleasure of presenting to Cedar Valley Women Connect on creating, achieving, and maintaining balance in our lives. If this is something you struggle with, we invite you to do this exercise: Make a list of your values. (These values are the guiding principles with which we strive to live our lives.) Then, after you list out your values, reflect back on the last week. Where have you said yes to something outside of your values? Being aware of our "yes's" and if they are in alignment with our values or not will give us a clearer picture of where we could be out of balance. The question then becomes - Why am I saying yes to something that doesn't align with my values? And that is where we can grow and learn a lot as leaders and as important members of our families to create a better trajectory forward. - Nick Kuhle & Kayla Becker
Grateful to have been given the opportunity to host our local chapter of Women Lead Change, Cedar Valley Women Connect, this morning. Attendees were joined by Kyla & Nick from Greener Shepherd who presented on creating, achieving, and maintaining balance in our lives, which is a lesson we can all benefit from!
