Donate to My MS150 Fundraiser Below – Whether $20 or $200 every bit counts! Almost a year after ACL surgery, I’m back on the bike and taking on the MS150 this year! If you don’t know what it is, the MS150 is a 150+ mile bike ride over the course of two days. While that’s a neat accomplishment, the more important thing is that this ride is targeting to raise $9.4MM for the National Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Society in 2024. MS is a devastating, unpredictable disease. But money raised through Bike MS fuels cutting-edge MS research and critical services to ensure people affected by MS have the resources they need to live their best lives. And I want your help making that a reality! INTERESTING FACTS: - While there are other rides like it across the country, funds raised by this ride alone total more than the funds raised by all of the other Bike MS rides in the United States put together - Money raised in this ride stays in the area and over 80% goes to research, social programs, support and financial assistance to those with MS - I tore my ACL last year right before the MS150 and opted out of riding… but there are some cyclists who ride with only one leg, so clearly I had no excuse! https://lnkd.in/gfjJXAnF

Join us in supporting Mécénat Chirurgie Cardiaque: every reaction makes a difference! 👍 ❤️ On the 16th of April 2024, Dominique Giraud, William Chandrasekar, CPPM, MIE Aust, Mark Tolley, Peter Bell and Raphael DiPiazza transformed their daily commute into a fitness challenge. They chose to run, cycle, and kayak across the Yarra River in Melbourne, all the way to our Omexom Australia head office in Laverton North, Victoria. But you might ask, what's the reasoning behind it? Well, it's twofold! Firstly, it's about reducing CO2 emissions to make for a cleaner planet, and secondly, it's about generating funds for Mécénat Chirurgie Cardiaque. This charitable organization enables children with heart defects to travel to France for surgery when they can't receive treatment in their own country due to limited financial and technical resources. Mateusz, the son of one of our colleagues from Ailleron (Piotr Warchoł) is fighting a critical battle with a heart defect. The only chance to save his heart is surgery at Boston Children's Hospital, but the costs are overwhelming – 400,000 USD.      In Poland, doctors only offer palliative treatment, which is intended to "improve the patient's quality of life," but it doesn’t fix the defects. This treatment leads to the development of a single-ventricular heart, which has many long-term complications, including reduced efficiency of the body and liver cirrhosis. Moreover, no one can predict how long a child with this condition will be able to live. Sometimes, it's only a few years.   You’ve shown many times that Software Minders act with respect and care about those in need. One of our Directors, Mary Delaney, is taking part in the Wilmslow Triathlon this coming Sunday and hoping to raise some start up funds for Neuro In Nature CIC in the process. The triathlon involves a 400m swim, 24km bike ride and 6.4km run. Donations can be made via this crowdfunding link 🔗 https://lnkd.in/eJnhCzH8 As a not-for-profit, any monies raised go directly towards growing our service for people living with long term neurological conditions, and their families. Here's some examples of what any funds raised will help to pay for; ⭐️ £10 will fund snacks and refreshments at one of our nature based therapy sessions, £20 would fund slightly fancier snacks at a session ⭐️ £20 would fund a free space on one of our sessions for someone living with a long term neurological condition. ⭐️ £40 will pay for site hire for a 3 hour session, at our current location for many of our session, in Philips Park, Prestwich. This money goes to another CIC already in place doing nature based work there. ⭐️ £100 will allow us to buy four heart rate monitors, which we can then use to measure heart rate variability in participants in our sessions. This is an indicator of overall wellbeing and a good outcome measure of the impact of our sessions. By measuring this we can begin to contribute to the research evidence base for nature based therapies. ⭐️ £250 would fund a Family Forest Therapy session, allowing us to pay forest school practitioners to work with children of our clients, while we support parents living with long term neurological conditions, and provide a space for positive parenting experiences in nature. Any donation, however small, would be gratefully received, to help get our social enterprise off the ground 🌳💚
