🚀 Our latest paper on the 15-Minute City has just been published in Transportation Research Part A: Policy and Practice! 🌍 In this open-access paper, we provide a comprehensive analysis of how 15-minute cities are being implemented worldwide. By conducting an extensive literature review of both academic and grey literature, along with an expert survey, we explore diverse practices and contexts. 🔍 Almost one hundred cities were identified as either in the process of implementing or planning to implement the 15-Minute City concept. 📢 We propose a new classification typology for the 15-Minute City, informed by the Diffusion of Innovations Theory (DOI), which can help cities to pinpoint specific areas that require additional efforts to align with their 15-Minute City objectives. 🔗 Link for the full paper: https://lnkd.in/d_e4iXgZ 📌Co-Authors: Cecília Silva Sebastian Seisenberger Benjamin Büttner @Bartosz McCormick Enrica Papa Mengqiu Cao #15minuteCity #sustainabledevelopment

Arnór Bragi Elvarsson, doctoral student at Prof. Bryan Adey’s Chair of Infrastructure Management, is presenting at the Urban Research Seminar on April 17, 2024 at ETH Zürich, Hönggerberg. His presentation is titled, “Mapping, reviewing and improving the planning process for transport infrastructure in Canton Zürich”. The work he is presenting had the objective of identifying ways that we can improve infrastructure planning processes, ultimately making them more responsive. The planning process is mapped for the Canton Zürich including all involved stakeholders on a national, cantonal and communal level, discussion of the planning organisations, their internal procedures and how the different stakeholder groups collaborate. Based on a systems-oriented review of the process, suggestions for improvement are proposed. Sustainable Urban Mobility 🚌In the context of urban #transportation systems, #digitaltwins can facilitate real-time data analysis and predictive modeling, allowing city planners and transportation authorities to make informed decisions. 📘A new study by Eurac Research published on the scientific journal “logistics” designs the conceptual framework of the digital twin to optimize #urbanmobility scenarios in cities. Thanks to the collaboration between Eurac Research and Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC), the researchers developed the conceptual framework of the digital twin and applied it to the city of #Bolzano ✒️Andrea Grotto Dr. Pau Fonseca i Casas Zubaryeva Alyona, PhD Wolfram Sparber 🔗Here the scientific article https://lnkd.in/dfX8AAjS

【A Comprehensive Framework to Evaluate Urban Land Use Efficiency Based on Dynamic Evolution, Driving Mechanism and Influencing Factors】 Full article: https://lnkd.in/efyhTW-U (Authored by Bohang Zhang and Lihua Chen, from The University of Manchester (UK), etc.) #Land_use_efficiency, a basic problem in the framework system of land use research, is the key index to measure the quality of urban land use. This paper takes 16 cities in Yunnan Province as the research object, selects input indexes from land, human resources and capital, and output indexes from economic, social and environmental benefits to construct the evaluation index system for urban land use efficiency in Yunnan Province, and then analyzes the spatial-temporal #dynamic_evolution, #driving_mechanism and influencing factors of urban land use efficiency in Yunnan Province by using DEA model, Malmquist index, spatial autocorrelation analysis and Tobit regression model based on the index data from 2008 to 2019.
