I now have two things to be excited about when I get home from NACS.... my boys (of course) and putting on my new gumboot socks kindly supplied by Rovertown! Thanks to all the industry friends we got to reunite with from last year, as well as all the new friends we made this year. I cannot rate this event highly enough. Thank you Mark Wohltmann and the entire NACS team. See you next year in Chicago!

More data supporting relatively obvious assumptions. If you don't have a store front on mobile, you're going to be well and truly left behind. The time is now!

I haven't seen many studies on this glaringly missed opportunity for digital sales. We have not only the tools (AI) but also the data that enables us to offer this unique benefit to our digital shoppers. Love the insights coming out of Rovertown. If Mobile Coupons can achieve the kind of uplift reported in this study where customers are required to scan in-store to redeem the offer, imagine how effective they are when combined with digital order ahead. With Convenience on a similar journey to QSR, wouldn't this be a great problem to have?!

Hot coffee is the one thing I will always Order Ahead when I'm on the road - and will stop for even if I don't need gas - because I know I can be in and out (with my favourite pick-me-up) in minutes. It seems so obvious. Some chains are doing a great job of it and reaping the benefits....

Expect these percentages to be even larger for 2024. And no surprises about the role of company-branded, or what is commonly referred to as 1PO - 1st Party Ordering. We are very excited to have integrated with the Paytronix Loyalty platform for Altaine's first US-based 1PO and 3PD project. Looking forward to announcing it in the near future. Digital is the future of C-Store.

Love reading about these innovative Retailers leading the charge and blazing a trail for the industry. Most agree digital selling channels are critical for the future success of C-Store businesses, however, it's not that easy getting it right. Not only do you need to select a future-proof platform, our view is you need highly specialised operational and marketing expertise to maximise ROI for these projects as you roll them out. Fortunately, the US seems to be well serviced in this regard. Certainly we have encountered some extremely experienced and expert consultancies who are doing an outstanding job for the industry.
