JOAN co-founder and Chief Creative Officer Jaime Robinson's predictions for creativity in 2025: "AI and Intuition: As Al becomes even more a part of our reality, we're going to see two positively delightful creative responses...Harnessing Al to make great creative concepts come to life vividly in ways nobody has been able to do before...and in batshit crazy, human-made creativity that defies logic..." Thank you to Tim Nudd, Sabrina Sanchez, and Ad Age - 2025. Chaos. Comedy. Community. Craft. Bring It.

The whole idea is to connect emotionally to other people. That is why we write. That is why we gossip. That is why we create art. That is why we make movies. That is why we build communities. That is why we provide support. That is why we communicate. That is why we make jokes. That is why we tell stories. Of course AI can do that. But what would be the point? ________________ TheAnalogueBrainInTheDigitalEra

As a genxer, I can't think of a time when I wasn't aware of James Earl Jones, especially his voice. Raised on the original Star Wars trilogies and watching movies like Conan the Barbarian on repeat, his voice is deeply embedded in some of my core memories. And with his passing, my mind not only turns to how he has been wrapped up in so many pop culture icons in my life, but also we will likely continue to look back at him, his contributions, and the rights his name, image, and likeness (NIL). We are at interesting times, with emerging technology speeding along at warp speed picking up novel legal issues for us to contend with along the way. A few people who come to mind on these topics (specifically post-mortem personality rights and trust and estate issues that arise from generative AI and emerging tech) are Sara Adami-Johnson Esq, Ph.D, TEP, LL.M, JD, CFP®, Veronika Macurová Křížová and Will Kreth. Lucky for you all, I've had all three as guests on my podcast and will include links to those episodes in my comments. I predict that personality/publicity rights/genAI rights/trust and estate law will all be a very interesting intersection of the law and technology to watch. And I predict that we will look at James Earl Jones' passing as a tipping point for those conversations. And with all of that in mind, I fully intend on re-watching Conan the Barbarian tonight. #genai #nilrights #generativeai #nil

WEDNESDAY WISING Here #RobertSmith aptly stated it, #diversity is #strength and only #fools or #companies run by one will disown default to #expedience #convenience. I'll take his word that these are "#goodguys?" but that may not be enough. Many of them are also fickly-feckless will hop on any trending thing without ever believing in #dei(after #GeorgeFloyd broad daylight snuffing. "#robbystarbuck" is the useful idiot a retained- clown to embark/scheme at the expense(as always on brown & black). Those perpetuating this evility are well known they've publicly- boldly stated their obsession with #race-#racism. I hope these ain't who you say are #goodpeople or "#friends?" -of #generative-ai, hope the tangible benefits reaches the layman before it fizzles into what the suspicion is! -of the #book(good luck) hope you retain the rights for movie kids can see, only way to get them to get it! Next week, our Head of Creative Simon Boniface will be sharing some of his creative insights from 25 years of brand collaboration, tool experimentation... and trying to break things. This year's EVCOMference is all about 'reimagining the industry', so we'll be exploring the theme of #GenAI, and asking questions such as: 👨🎨 Are creatives redundant in an age of generative AI? 🐚 Do we still think that there will always be things that AI can't create? 🦾 What does a creative team even look like in an AI driven future? I made JFK do things he never did, and it took me just 5 seconds. This is the age of deepfakes, where reality is optional. With LivePortrait, I turned a public domain image of JFK into a lifelike video. His lips synced to mine, his expressions matched mine. It was shockingly easy and utterly terrifying. As we approach another election, this tech isn't just a novelty; it's a misinformation time bomb. Imagine seeing a candidate say something outrageous. Would you know if it's real? The line between truth and fiction is vanishing. Our grandparents said, "Don't believe everything you read." Our parents said, "Don't believe everything you hear." Now, we can't trust what we see. This tech can even create people and scenarios that never existed. We're facing a crisis of authenticity. But there's a flip side. With tools like Luma AI or Runway Gen 3, you're a one-person Hollywood studio. You could make mind-bending commercials or alternate history documentaries. The only limit is your imagination. In a world where seeing isn't believing, how do we know what's real? How can we trust our leaders, institutions, or senses? These are urgent challenges. This tech is only getting better, faster, and more accessible. We're at a crossroads of innovation and ethics. The choices we make now will shape our digital reality. Are we ready for a world where reality is just another option in the dropdown menu? Can we harness this power responsibly, or are we opening Pandora's box of digital deception? The future isn't coming. It's already here. #DeepfakeReality #AIEthics #DigitalTruth

AI film – state-of-the-art alert 🚨 Probably the best example yet of an AI-generated short film, built with Google's #Veo2, which is not yet public Very high levels of realism, but what really struck me was the consistency of characters and set across the film. Use in high-end TV/film/ads must only be a few months away. Maybe not as the main feature, but could easily be used to create b-roll and sub-content. The usual warning though. As the production playing field levels, the narrative/concept becomes even more important. (h/t Yang Wong for bringing this to my attention)
Christ! Ever had a roommate from hell? Jesus has. Literally. In my new #AI comedy short, our landlord and savior foolishly rents his modest spare bedroom to the devil. First lesson? Always run a background check. The second? You *can* totally make non-glossy, non-sci-fi AI trailer slop today to tell a complete, coherent and unique story. This short blends AI-generated visuals with a mix of AI-generated and licensed audio. Made using Google Veo 2. Big thanks again to Matthieu Lorrain for early access—I’m hooked. HEMANTH LINGAMGUNTA Richard Feynman's approach to curiosity and problem-solving offers valuable insights for training large language models (LLMs), vision-language models (VLMs), and APIs. Feynman was known for his unconventional thinking and love for exploring diverse problems, which fueled his groundbreaking work in physics and beyond[1][2][3][4]. To integrate Feynman's concepts into AI training: 1. Curiosity-Driven Learning: Encourage models to explore a wide range of data and problems, similar to Feynman's approach of keeping favorite problems in mind to stimulate curiosity and discovery[3]. 2. Interdisciplinary Approach: Incorporate diverse datasets from various fields, reflecting Feynman's interest in art, music, and science, to enhance the model's ability to draw connections across different domains[2]. 3. Iterative Problem-Solving: Implement a feedback loop where models continuously refine their understanding and solutions, akin to Feynman's method of testing new information against existing problems[3][4]. 4. Simplification and Clarity: Use Feynman's technique of breaking down complex concepts into simpler parts to improve model explanations and user interactions[4]. By embedding these principles, AI systems can become more robust, adaptable, and insightful, reflecting Feynman's legacy of curiosity and innovative thinking.
