Do you want to know a phrase that will help you introduce new things to your person with dementia? Hi, I'm Joanne, I'm a dementia expert. I've been caring for people with dementia for 20 years and I make videos like this almost every day. So don't forget to subscribe and follow. So I love a phrase that says this, and it is What do you think of that? And when you can use that is if you're introducing something new to them, something like a stuffed animal or a baby doll or any kind of a new food or even just a normal food that maybe they didn't like in the past. A lot of times we wanna answer for them and say ohh, they don't like this. They didn't like it before, they're not going to like it now or. You know, they didn't ever play activities. They're not gonna do it now and that kind of stuff. And The thing is, we're limiting what they can do then because The thing is people with dementia, their, their taste of things change. Their activity preferences change based on where they're at now. I think the good thing is what do you think of this when you're introducing something new? Gives them a chance to answer for themselves. And if they're not answering it or they're having a hard time, you can, you can then say. What do you think about this? Do you like it? And they can say yes or no. So that's a close ended question. Hope that helps.
