This mindset, rooted in historical and societal norms, stifles entrepreneurship and limits the region's potential as a global innovation hub. Key challenges: • Cultural stigma around failure • Lack of venture capital for high-risk ventures • Regulatory hurdles and limited IP protections • Brain drain of talented innovators However, change is on the horizon. Emerging startups like Careem demonstrate the region's potential. To fully unleash innovation, the Middle East must: 1. Reform education to foster critical thinking and entrepreneurship 2. Shift cultural narratives around risk-taking and failure 3. Streamline regulations and protect intellectual property 4.
